Those aren’t even real soup dumplings. They don’t actually have soup inside. You need to go buy some real ones that are steamed. That way, there will be soup.

I see the problem here. Trader Joe’s soup dumplings can be good, and soupy…but the issue here is she microwaved them, which dries them out and turns the dough very chewy.
Put a piece of parchment in a steamer basket, and steam these for a few minutes. They turn out tender, and do have soup in the middle!

I always steam my soup dumplings in a steamer and don't microwave ever. I also put them in a chicken broth with veggies and a little chili oil and sesame oil.

When they say to bite the side or top they mean a tiny bit of it just to release the soup or usually to release the heat from the dumpling. Hope this helps.

You can use the chopsticks to poke a hole and let the soup drain into the spoon, drink the soup then eat the dumpling
