This was *peak* Roger in 2004. Kids these days just don't realize how insanely good he was back then. To me, he'll always be the greatest player to have ever played tennis.

3 most underrated things in tennis:

Federer's defence
Nadal's net play
Djokovic's drop shot

Man i wished federer brought back the ponytail just one more time before his retirement, and nadal brings back the long shorts and sleeveless shirt. Just iconic looks in sports

Now this is a great rally. All shots were well struck! All too often we see these shorts call mediocre rallies great simply because it involves a big name.

Federer lost the point like four times and still won it.

That first backhand slice was really lazy and poorly applied, which is what gave his opponent the initiative in the first place and put Federer at a huge disadvantage in the point. An older Federer would have either hit a big backhand cross court or kept the slice much much flatter. Great to see that, as good as a young Federer was, there are countless little improvements he's kept making throughout the years and that's how he's stayed at the top for so long

Que estilo y elegancia de Federer ya de joven demostraba claramente su talento y además una excelente persona, pero los años pasan para todos....

The best defence I’ve ever seen. Yes, better than prime Djokovic and Nadal too.
