South Africa just showed up on another video as one of the countries people most regret moving to. Why are there so many videos being shown that misalign images with narration.

This was a good overview but I had questions about some of the other eposodes since I had spent time in all of the listed countries. This was one was more realistic.Only one of these is countries I had not spent time in, Morocco. For retirees safety and medical care are concerns but almost all of these are safer than the US The Philippines have doggy areas and has the major risk factor of being a base of operations for the war the US is planning against China so that is a serious risk.. Another risky one is Georgia. The new president wanted to revive the historic good relations with Russia and Join BRICS so the US has tried to foment problems and attempted a second coup to to replace the popular leader with one picked by Washington. The US did that before and created a short war after installing a very corrupt US trained but unpopular president who fled to take control of Southern Ukraine, based in Odessa. He was captured and served jail time when he returned to Georgia. After he was removed, the economy improved and more trade developed to Russia and Asia so everything is ok now but Washington will try again. The people are friendly, the corruption has declined so tourism has increased. The people are closely connected to Russia since about 1/2 the Ethnic Georgians live in Russia. They are famous for their wine and bottled mineral water. Much of the exported wine is of modest quality because distributors in Europe and US want low prices but go to any of the better wineries to their tasting rooms and you be very pleasantly surprised by the better wine being very good. The wineries offer two types, Georgian style and European style. The difference is the Georgian style is aged in large clay pots about 5-6 across with small clay plug on the top of the bulb pot. The grapes, twigs, leaves, all, got in and filled with water. These large pots are in the ground so the clay pot is fully in contact with the rich soil. The water is a mineral water that is famous internationally that comes from the near by mountains. The top clay, about 1 foot diameter is sealed with wax and covered and left for a year or more. It is very good, complex and goes great with traditional Georgian food. If Georgia joins BRICS its economy will boom so prices of houses could go up but otherwise a couple of retirees on SS could have a good life on $1200 covering two people.
Romania is nice but being EU, which is crashing, it could become more expensive to cover the decline of the rest of EU countries.
I have spend a lot of time in 92 countries and picked my move in Jan 2000 when I moved from California after giving away all my assets there, after the 3rd break into my main house by gun wielding teens in late 1999. I was pretty sure I wanted out but that triggered action. It took 3 weeks to give away the businesses and car collection, house a ranch and my money was put into a trust I have no access to and moved to stunning St Petersburg Russia 24 years ago with 2 suitcases and $6000. I doubt there is anywhere with more access to the highest end of culture was and still is wonderful, so much safer then the US or Europe, very low cost of living. No need for a car with excellent public transportation and very friendly, and almost no crime, my 47 year old small blond GF can walk through any district or neighborhood in a city of 7mil, alone, at 3am or through and of the 600 beautiful parks. This one city has 475 museums, 237 drama theaters within walking distance of of my city center home. All the American expats here wonder why they stayed in the US as long as they did. The medical care is really good and free even doctor house call. Calling the dispatcher gets an ambulance at your door in less than 10 minutes and has a medical doctor on board. The social and cultural scene is unmatched anywhere. I need to return to California to renew my 3 year visa next month and concerned by the risks, the return visits 3-5 years apart shocked me how the country has decayed in those few years, The cost of living has no connection to quality of life. I turned 75 in June but in good shape and run 3 businesses, the largest one relate to tourism but Covid put us on hold. I am active in the other two, a photo studio and a shop that repairs professional sound equipment for studios, venues, musicians. But much of my time is socializing, dancing, jazz clubs, attending one of the 54 classical music halls or opera and ballet at the highest level and a choice every night between 4--9 operas or 5-9 Ballet, 1000 English style pubs, 13, 000 4-5 star rated restaurants. plays at price that anyone can afford. The last time in NYC was on my GF's first visit to the US so we started in NYC. She saw a poster for an opera we both like so I promised to get tickets...$1600!! at the MET, the only theater that night in the entire US, that was 2 months living expenses for 2 people. I got them anyway and it was disappointing after attending every week to high end classical theater and costing $20

I live in the Philippines and $400.to $900 is totally insane. We need more than $2, 000. Our rent is $350. Electric bill $200. Groceries $400. Car payment $150. Plus much more. How about medical insurance kids school tuition and supplies dental needs. OMG you are misleading people into a very bad situation if they move here expecting to live on $900.

Would like to know which of these countries has the lowest rates of crimes such robberies, kidnapping and murders. It doesn't mean that low cost of living and it's safer there, maybe more dangerous than a higher cost.
