Caserta Pizza - Providence, RI (Phantom Gourmet)

In pizza-obsessed city like Providence, Rhode Island, finding the right combination of dough, sauce, cheese is practically a religion. And Caserta Pizzeria on Federal Hill is considered holy ground.

I miss Caserta’s pizza, the pepper pigs too, but it’s just too far away for Me to go get a pie now that I live in San Diego. I can still smell the pizzas cooking 10 years later.

In the '70's my friends and I would save up our change, go to Caserta's to get Pizza (the best). I loved (and still do) the Wimpy Skimpy. Thank you Caserta for the great memories!

Been goin here since I was in diapers and now 2000 miles away I'm trying to cook it at home for my children. Never have quite nailed down the spinach combination however. Absolutely the best place to eat ANYWHERE ANYTIME. Miss it much! :)

Parents took me to Caserta Pizza in 1959, been going back ever since. When people come in from out of town looking for the best pizza in RI, I send them to Caserta's. The Holy Grail of pizza!

I tried Caserta on Federal Hill. It was the big pizza pie with mushrooms on it but I only managed 7 slices! I gave the rest to a bypasser standing outside a bar!
