Well, I sorta like it, but also I don't as it's totally missed the point of the original. This is.... soft and lovely. The original is bitter, disappointed, angry, defiant and abrasive, which should be how you feel when you discover the adult world is completely hollow and shallow, and all the great things that were promised to you turned out to be just words, from ordinary, selfish, ignorant people who are quite happy to lie to children to get what they want. That's not lovely. Waits captures it perfectly.
