I bought my three Honda vehicles all new.
1999 Accord lx 4 cyl auto.
2002 CRV LX auto.
2014 Pilot Exl auto.
I do the maintenance myself. They’re all running strong. No issues.

I know people who were leasing a Camry or Rav4, but when the leases ended were unable to get another Toyota. The dealers had none to offer. The friend of mine leasing the Rav4 then bought it at the contracted price, which was a very very good price (his lease began in late 2019). My friend with the Camry ended up buying a new Accord.

17 year old Acura TSX, 6-speed, and I bought it new. It's still going strong. I've been test driving a lot lately, looking for a car with new tech, but after all is said and done, the prices and dealer markups are insane, so I'll hold on to my car for a while longer.

Leases are needed to get people back in the market every 3 years. The down payment on leases anymore are ridiculous.

I’ve just scrapped my 18 year old car for a 3 year lease. First time I’ve lease. Will wait for the electric to mature more before I consider buying again.

More likely that leasing will increase as electric becomes the majority of new cars available. Automakers interested in service fees for equipment and performance while decreasing reliability past warranty will reduce availability without shortages to ensure more msrp sales/leases and less need for incentives. Used and new purchases will be popular as long as parts are available for them. My goal is to purchase a new vehicle as soon as practical so I can avoid falling into the cellphone model of car ownership for as long as possible.

19 Dodge Durango RT. Extended my lease last April for one more year due to the shortage of used cars and new car markups. My lease payment went down $240/month less than what i was paying for the last 3 years and now I can buy it out in April 2023 for $24K. With only 36K miles, I think that keeping it will be a better option at this point because new car leases as you said are outrageous. Same vehicle they want over $800/mo with over $2K down.

I bought my 15 Crosstrek new, so it's almost 8 yrs old w/ 49, 000 mi on it. I still love it but just for kicks I wanted to see what it's worth and got a couple of decent offers.

Went to Honda to return my lease. They want 6000 down and monthly payment of 450 for a new lease on a Honda Civic! I end up buying out my 2020 Civic for 14500. I'm done with leasing

Just saw an add for Durango Hellcat. MSRP 105K and the dealership offering 60/mo/ lease (never seen that) at over 1800/mo. That's more than the msrp hehe just to lease. Also a near 1000/mo to lease a 51K minivan

The only thing I see leasing working for the average person is if it's a second car, a weekender. That Porsche or that convertible which only gets driven on weekends. Otherwise it's just the ego of having a new car every two or three years and not having to pay for long-term maintenance. A few days ago another car outlet posted the top five leases for this month. One of them was a BMW X3M. The down payment and the monthly payments over 36 months equates to $45, 000 to rent that thing for 3 years. I'm sorry but you've got to be out of your mind to pay that for renting a car. Buy it, maintain it, and keep it. My current car is two years old. The only reason I have it is because my previous car was totaled. It was 5 years old with 100K and running perfectly. I'd still be driving it.

How's it going. I'm 2 yrs into a 3 yr lease for 12k
miles a year. I'm currently only at 14k miles and
definitely will be way under my miles during turn
in time. Will that benefit me in anyway? Thanks
