I’m Dr. Dana Brems, also known as Foot Doc Dana. As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), I treat everything from trauma including broken bones, other sports injuries, foot wounds, calluses, thick or ingrown nails; you name it! Being a #doctor is a serious job, but we can have a lighthearted side too. That's why I created this channel- to make medical themed #shorts videos for fun, while also helping to answer your questions.

When I was getting my cast off, the doctor showed me it wouldn't cut me.
Used it on his hand, and I saw it didn't cut him. It's fancy technology.

Can still cause a friction burn. Yes I have a grudge.

It _can_ cut you if being used incorrectly. There's a method of sliding a metal barrier underneath where the saw is going to go because of this (also helps with patient anxiety). It's _generally unlikely, _ but too much force, rushing it, inexperienced user, improper maintenance, all can lead to potential injury from these; and they can leave some nasty scars.

It will not cut you, but it can burn you from the heat of friction.

Wish they had this 75~ years ago. A doctor cut deep into my grandma's skin while trying to get rid of the cast and ignored her screams. Even now she avoids doctor's like the plague...

The difference between oscillation and rotation ^^)
Fun fact: you can get your very own oscillating saw in discount supermarkets. Really nice for tight corners. Or if you ever need to get rid of a plaster cast…

Honestly, I knew this already but I watched the video because Doctor Dana's vids are quite wholesome if I do say so myself

It’s the same as an oscillating saw used in by builders.

I had a cast when I was a little kid, and when it was about to get removed I was SO scared. Then it just cut right through and I was like, that’s it???
