Netgear router not working? Try this simple method. (FIX BRICKED ROUTER)

Nowhere, on any forum, has anyone told me to use one of the output ports on the router instead of the input. I have been trying for two days to flash update my bricked router. You sir saved me in the first two minutes of your you!

Wow It took me a couple of day and trying a few different ways to get to the R7000P netgear router.
I first used a W10 laptop, then I used a MBP MacOS High Sierra with no success. I finally access the router from a Desktop running W10.

I setup on the NIC to static
IP 192.168.1.10
SM 255.255.255.0
GW 192.168.1.1

On the TFTP tool
IP 192.168.1.1
set up 10 attempts.
I set it up to try up to 10 tries.
I set it and when I came back
I was able to get into the router.

All I can say is to try every-way that you fine from the NET.
and even think outside of the box.

I have R6350 Netgear router and I had 1.1.0.85 and I had got an ota update for 1.1.0.88 and I tried updating and it got bricked! It's issue with update I didn't touch it for 45min and later when it didn't boot I realised it's bricked! I did only following few steps to fix it.
1. As suggested by this gentleman connect and configure windows pc and router and try ping it won't respond
2 use FTP CLI tool to connect to 192.168.1.1
3. Mode binary
4. Put <binary img file>
After this wait for 10min your router will boot and will be ready for usage!

The ip address I used was slightly different 192.168.1.10 and the default gateway was 192.168.1.1

Thanks mate, fixed my ac1200 r6120 netgear. At first I thought it didn't work as the power led was still blinking, but just had to leave it for a few minutes then it started to blink rapidly then it worked.

Thanks Man - Great video. worked for me. but wanted others to be clear it is important to turn off your ACTIVE wifi router before doing this, otherwise the program will try to access that router (192.168.1.1)
