High School Valedictorian Banned at Graduation for Facial Hair

A teen was denied from walking across the stage because he refused to shave his facial hair.

I have a problem with the fact that this student was able to have facial hair throughout the school year with no problem from the school. To arbitrarily enforce the rule on graduation night is just hypocritical. This young man was an excellent student who had EARNED his place as Valedictorian. Not allowing him to participate was petty and very disappointing...

This society hates any signs of masculinity. Should females be denied the right to walk across the stage when they bleed each month? Just as it is natural for young women to bleed once a month, so it is for young men to grow facial hair. Besides, he went all 4 years without shaving, now all of sudden it's a big deal. I think is color is the issue. A black guy number 1 in his class is too much for a lot of racist.

I got told of for having very little facial hair on my upper lip and the teacher would only tell me to remove it and didn’t tell the other boys I felt like I was being targeted.

schools need to be put in check the supreme court ruled that schools can't violate a students rights ...they ruled that a person doesn't lose their rights just by walking in a building
