My add-ons:
- macrame
- watercolor
- modifying thrifted clothes (learning basic sewing to take off sleeves, hem, combine pieces, etc. can often be done without a machine.)
- watching old/classic movies and tv shows
- candle making
- quilting
- video games
- calligraphy/brush pen
- miniatures
- volunteering! Be it animal shelters, nursing homes, etc.
- meal prep: thinking of it as a fun hobby to try recipes is more fun than a chore
- hula hooping
- jumping rope
- rowing/kayaking/canoeing

As a former web/graphic designer, I gotta say: bullet journaling and getting good at it teaches you so, SO much about layout design and you can literally do SO much with that skill. Making ads, websites, notion templates- anything. Understanding how to fill space to be pleasing to the eye is one of the most undersold, base-level skills to have.

if you're a reader, a book series I would HIGHLY recommend is the "a good girls guide to murder series". The books are SO good, it was very devastating to me once I finished it!!!

what really motivates me are some comments i saw on tiktok about a similar topic- becoming good at something (like playing an instrument) can take years. but the time will pass anyways. might as well use to your advantage

A hobby I recently picked up that has literally re-sparked joy in my life is jewelry making! Specifically making UV resin charms but I love making cute little beaded earrings, phone charms, and bookmarks too. They make great gifts and can also double as a money-making hobby.

If you would like to learn a new language may i recommend Gaeilge/Irish to you! Gaeilge is irish in irish and it is the language of ireland, although we mainly speak english here now due to the british invading the country and making the language illegal to speck in the past (its no longer illegal but that hurt the language alot). It is a beautiful language and we are constantly fighting to keep it alive, in my opinion its not to hard to learn the grammar has rules alot more simple then the english grammer rules and it you where to learn it you would be one of the 0.5 precent of the world who can which is super cool! You would be part of that really cool community and myself and others in ireland would be very proud of you. The language has many beautiful ways to say i love you and no slurs! It also as you might have gathered already has a rich and inspiring history. If you want to learn more about the language in ireland today i would reccomend the Kneecap movie (but please note this is the north of ireland) it is very cool and inspiring and alot of it is in the language so you may even learn a word or two or at least get a impression of how the launguge sounds. Irish speakers are also very accepting of mistakes so don't worry about that when you start learning we even have a very popular saying here "Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste" meaning Broken Irish is better then clever English. Thank you for reading this ❤🇮🇪

Hi everyone! Wanted to share a little about my experience. In 2024 I took a huge social media detox and was off socials for a while. I found that limiting social media usage inspired me to make better use of the time I had and helped me become a lot more creative then I thought I was. In the past year I dabbled in reading, crocheting, sewing, coloring, scrapbooking, painting, physical movement, learning about holistic health, water color paint, experimenting with different genres of music, being more intentional with learning, sudoku, checkers, online courses for learning (for example taking a project management course to get certified) and the list goes on. I always try to tell my friends and loved ones there's so much out there so to give the phone a rest. Social media can be so addictive and time consuming, without the right boundaries in place. All this to say, there are so many things out there. If you have the time to scroll you definitely have the time to find a new hobby that you might LOVE while learning new things about yourself in the process. Good luck everyone with 2025, I hope its filled with growth and intentionality. If anyone wants to connect and chat more feel free to comment below :)

When I was younger I picked up rollerblading with my brother, we both can rollerblade AND ice-skate now! It is a great activity to learn the bruises from falling are well worth it
