Ten '90s Callbacks in X-Men '97 | From The OG X-Men Animated Series

As someone born in the early 2000s, I didn't get to completely watch the '90s X-Men The Animated Series, I only saw a handful of episodes. But after watching the first season of X-Men '97 and seeing how awesome it was, I decided to go back and watch all 5 seasons (76 episodes) of the '90s series. I ended up enjoying every second of it and also noticed how some scenes and moments from it were referenced in X-Men '97. In this video, I detailed at least TEN of those references/callbacks. I also found it funny how Genosha just became home of Mutants in X-Men 97, it was quite literally a mutant slave island throughout the original animated series 😂. But yeah great show 👍

Making Magneto and Rogue that used to be a couple was a surprised but it was unnecessary and forced in x-men 97. If u watch the 90's animated series there weren't any signs or hints that they used to be a couple. The writers of X-men 97 clearly ignore it there was no past romance between these two. Just because it happen in the comics which they clearly got that idea from doesn't mean that they should have put it in animation. People hated that it happens in the comics anyway since they hated it in the comics why would they like it in animation. If they wanted to do a love triangle then they should have done it with Scott, Jean, and Madelyne.

I don't remember there being another 4th of July joke in the 90s series. I think Rogue said something about the chemical plant exploding like the 4th of July in "Deadly Reunions", but that had nothing to do with Jubilee.

There was also a call back to the old Fox movies, When Scott hands Cable the yellow spandex suit, he says "What did you expect? Black leather?" And in the Fox movies scott hands wolverine a black leather suit and says "What did you expect? Yellow spandex?"
