Yes, she is the same Marlyn who is my classmate and batch 77 during our high school days in Villamor High School, she was our Mama Mary and Lady Magdalene one time in our theatre and arts presentation in our high school foundations days and Christmas programs. Because of her beautiful face she is always the star of the show and our lead singer that time when we were classmates in our elective classes which is Art and Communication. ❤️❤️❤️ I am proud of you dear classmate

Nung bata- bata pa ako nung ‘70s and ‘80s, di ko type yung singing style ni Marlene. Nakikita ko rin yata s’ya sa shows ni Joe Quirino. After a music degree and now that i’m 62, ngayon ko lang na appreciate ang voice and style n’ya. I just watched her Show on YouTube with Regine and Vernie Varga in the 2000s yata yon. Wow! Her technic, her voice timbre, extended phrasings and dynamics really got me so impressed with her. Sayang, Pinoys didn’t get to enjoy her much in her prime. Well, di pa late. We want more of her. 👏🏼❤👏🏼

Marlene Dela Peña must be given recognition and to be placed in our textbooks just like Lea Salonga, Manny Pacquiao, etc. as the first Filipina singer in Japan that became so famous during her time. I grew up in love with music just like my Mom and I recognize her thru my Mom.

My first time in Japan as a singer was in 1978, the succeeding years, Japanese always mentioned the name. Marlene to me. She was so famous back then alongside with Salena Jones. You could hear her songs being played in shopping centers and supermarkets. And I am glad that up to these days she's still singing and active and still very famous. I hope the PHILIPPINES television would showcase her talents for the Filipinos to see how good she is as a singer.

Mam Aster, this is one for the books. Nadidinig ko na ang name ni Ms Marlene as a young kid but since she was a treasure in Japan, wala siyang gaanong exposure here except I think in a Joe Quirino program back then. Your interview is a sort of Introduction to most who will watch this. Congrats for your effort.
