I hear you on don't buy stuff you're not going to use. Every once in awhile I buy kale only to let it rot in the fridge. It's cheaper just to admit to myself that I don't like kale.

Re. #40 - install screens in your windows so you can open them even if you have insects around. Particularly during summer nights!
#51 choose floor with throw-over carpets over wall-to-wall carpets - more hygienic, easier to clean (sweeping and mopping, whack dusting), they don't wear out in patches as badly, and save on vacuum and regular carpet-cleaning expenses. Also, you can change the decor easily by getting a cheap rug.

I loved that you mentioned the library! They have so many resources for patrons that are all free. At our library, the slip that comes with a book when you borrow it tells you how much you saved by borrowing instead of buying the item. Also, so true that we should be more intentional with our purchases and not buy what we will not use. Keep up the good advice!

Reduce your water usage by catching water that runs while you wait for it to warm up (for showers or dish washing or such). Use the water you collected for the coffee maker, to refresh the pets' water bowl, to water plants, to boil pasta, whatever. If you pay for your water, it can help reduce your bill a bit and that can add up over time, and if you're on a well, it may not save you $$ but it's always good to conserve our natural resources where we can!

Sad one but- if your pet passes away and you wish to have your beloved friend cremated, don't just go with your vet's cremation services. There can be a HUGE markup there. Look online to find pet cremation specialist or local funeral homes who offer such services. Be SURE you understand and receive the type of cremation you prefer (large group, small group, individual). Our local funeral home offers pet cremation for a fraction of what our vet's office charges. Worth looking into BEFORE you need the service if you have pets as these are not details you will have the energy to deal with when you're grieving.

Tip - May not apply to your usual audience as I bet I'm a little older and not sure younger people read magazines anymore - I get magazines online for free from my library and read them through Libby. Another upside is you can adjust the size of the font for those of us who need that - which brings us to Zenni for eyeglasses -- much less expensive.

Also, with pets, please do not switch their foods often.it can mess up their delicate little tummies and then you have a huge vet bill.stick to one specific brand/ type.our cat loves meow mix tender center cat food.so, thats what we buy.
Hygiene items.just buy the men's ones.work better, last longer, smell better, and cost less.especially with razors, shave cream, deoderant.trust me .
Dont buy body wash.use bar soap.its often much cheaper.

My bath towels I got as a gift when I was first married lasted 39 years so far. I still use some cut up for rags to clean with.

Towel hierarchy ~ gift, bath towel, floor towel, dog/puke/plumbing mess towels, reusable rags, finally nasty-mess-to-the-trash bin-without-guilt rags. ♻️👍

Nice! Loved these suggestions. Here's one that you may or may not have already given : when you are done with a meal, freeze the left overs. They make great lunch or combine them as a weeknight's meal for the family. If you leave it in the fridge with the intent of eating it, you are more likely to waste it. Most things freeze rather well.

Also, know that "plastic blocks" are NOT all the same. If you want quality and durability, LEGO will always be the winner. Otherwise, yes, other brands could do. On nother note, you can often find LEGO's cheaper through Market place on FB.

Thanks for another great video. (I'm sure you can do another 50 of these 😂)

As I buy myself new clothing items or home decor, I sell clothing (GOOD or better condition) and home decor I no longer want, use, fits, need, etc. on Ebay, Poshmark, FBMP, etc. I have earned thousands over the years doing this.

Good suggestions! My coworkers and I share the task of refilling the big water cooler bottles for our office. I grab my coffee tumbler at home, finish the coffee, then refill it with water all day at work. No need to be buying plastic water bottles for the office anymore!

Pets: My boyfriend saves a LOT of money on vet visits and nail clippings for our cat with a monthly "wellness" plan. He gets the $30/mo medicine for $4. He gets the nails clipped every quarter for free and gets $10 off the other times (usually $25 each time). And basically all other treatments are way cheaper as well.

Great Video Sarah, re: air filters, my AC maintenance man said the cheaper the better and change often. That is unless you have a severe allergy issue. Those close woven filters tend to make your furnace work harder. I think Jason likes to tease...I think he must be a great man that prefers humor to grumpy. You're very lucky. I was blessed with a husband who always woke up happy and cheerful...what a wonderful way to start the day. Y'all have a Blessed day.

I learned to pressure can a couple of years ago. That along with dehydration is a great way to preserve my organic harvest.

Pressure cooking saves me lots on meat since I can buy a cheaper cut and use the pressure cooker to tenderize

Absolutely get multiple quotes for home improvement! We were going to pay almost triple for our electric panel, ended up getting it done for much less and even discount from a very reputable company.

I have always had a small Sunbeam mixer which fits nicely in the cupboard and still does the trick. Good advice about when to go out and eat.
