If only Twitch would apply the same standards to ALL. Either you allow everyone to stream the event, or, you ban them all. Consistency is the issue here.

They're a difference in posting gratuitous violence and posting news coverage. Just like there a differnce in just spouting profanity and quoting what someone says when they used profanity. It was live, so you couldn't give any warning that it was coming. I think the context of what is posted is important. It's not like you were intentionally posting violence, you were posting a live stream of a trial, your intention wasn't to be in violation of the rules it wasn't sneering you could control. 30 days is too much. It's not like you do things like this in a regular basis, a slap on the wrist, maybe a 24 hour ban or 3 days at most, if they feel they just have to do something. But they also need to do the same to every other channel who posted that same feed.

It could be that the mod that banned you is biased. In your appeal, especially considering other sites weren't banned for the same content, they may find this and reinstate you. I had that happen to me on Quora. I posted something that a right-radical mod didn't like. They looked at my appeal, I was immediately reinstated, the post put back up, and he lost his mod privys!

Twitch has his favorites. Some people can get away with it with a lot of stuff with just a slap in the wrist or gets ignored while some do something minor and they get banned right away.
