To live, simply, in nature — one of the many things Burt Shavitz taught us. We remember the man who taught us the profound respect and belief in nature that we carry on today. We celebrate the man who reminded us to look to the Earth for answers, and to love every sunset. #BurtLivesOn

The old ways are the best ways indeed. Homesteading is becoming very popular because more and more people are realizing this. RIP to this great man. The world needs more people like him.

Look into the real story behind this. Burt was an old 'back to the land' movement hippie that never wanted a company or wealth. But the young ambitious hitchiker he struck up a relatinship back in the early 80's wanted it all. She basically took his likeness and core product hostage (small farm produced beeswax), ran with it, turned it into something he never intended, then forced him out of the company over "personal reasons" and eventaually sold it all to Clorox and shafted Burt out of millions. He was forced under contract to endorse the products much to his disdain in his later years. If you think these products today on the shelves of big box stores, now owned by a megabillion conglomerate chemical manufacturer are even remotely like they were originally intended (clean, natural, supporting local agriculture) you have been fooled.

It's too bad things change to Clorox being the owner now. If it's a keeper leave it alone. And Burt's right land is everything.
