I personally would've used self locking nuts instead of wing nuts, that way it would all be a little more secure

I just bought something similar. A 5x8 mesh carry on. I want to do this. Wasn’t sure if plywood or single slates would be better

I learned a few things. I did like the angle cut at the ends for better loading. And I like that stain.

I'm going to do this, but I'll attach to the angle iron frame for more stability since I'll be attaching a 50-gallon chemical tank that I would rather not pull on the mesh when the trailer bounces. I'm going to use self-locking nuts versus wing nuts.

Just for future knowledge, you get better cuts by making shallow passes to reduce tear out at the sides, then by cutting end to end. It puts less stress on the motor, and depending on the width of the board, it's safer.

Just got the same trailer. Plan in doing this upgrade shortly. How do the wing nuts hold up? Was debating on using those or the locking nuts.

Did you use 2x6 wood or something special for this ?

I just bought one of these trailers and was thinking about decking it. This video helped me make that decision, it looks amazing. Great work! What length carriage bolts did you need for this? Have you done any more upgrades to the trailer? I’m considering adding a couple beams to the tongue as well as upgrading the axle/suspension.

Why did you choose to anchor to the mesh, and not the metal supports ? I have been going back and forth in my head about anchor points myself, as I am switching to boards as well.

So all the boards are 1x5 except that one in the middle. What is it?
