PRONUNCIATION: 50 most common words!

Sometimes you may ask yourself if your pronunciation is correct... for example, the word “the”.

You think you know how to pronounce it… but you question yourself, and then you think “Wow, my English skills are worse than I thought!”😔

Your English skills are not worse than you thought!

You have learnt the pronunciation of this word… but other people pronounce it differently!
Why? Well, it can change depending on where they are from, their accent, their dialect, their native language… 🌍

So you may hear other people say “the” differently to you… and then you think you have been saying it wrong the whole time 😅

In this video, we will take some time to learn and recognise how the 50 most common words are pronounced in the British English "standard" form, and their alternative form (other UK accents)... and you'll soon see that there are multiple ways to pronounce the most simple words -- it's easy to get confused!

(I don’t talk about the US 🇺🇸accent in this video… unless you want a video that is one hour long 😉)

This is very useful, thank you. I've noticed that I say "the" like `thuh` or `thee` depending on the word. Pretty sure I say "Thuh thing", but "Thee ashtray" 😂
