On Monday, 27 July 2015 at 8pm (CET), two weeks after Europe’s longest-ever summit where Greece and the rest of the eurozone have finally reached an #Agreekment , we will discuss the eurozone crisis, the Greek bailout deal, the different positions of the Member States during the negotiations and of course the panelists’ opinions about them. Not less than 8 participants from all over Europe and various JEF sections will have a close look at the solutions, agreements and proposals leading to a third bailout and keeping Greece within the Euro - when ratified by the Greek and all other national parliaments.

Follow the debate live on YouTube and join in by using the hashtag  #JEFhangout !

Do you think you’ve heard and read everything about the Greek crisis, without getting the genuine implications for our common currency and the future of Europe? You didn't understand the motivation for several Member States supporting an (even temporary) #Grexit and being a tough nut to crack when it comes to reaching a common denominator, did you? Would you rather prefer to talk about long-term solutions for Greece and the eurozone? Then this JEF Live Hangout will be exactly what you need!

The participants of the panel:

• Elisa Tarkiainen (JEF Finland)
• Ophélie Omnes (JEF France)
• David Schrock (JEF Germany)
• Petros Aggos (JEF Greece)
• Vaida Cesnuleviciute (JEF Lithuania)
• Jorge Pinto (UEF Portugal)
• Óliver Soto (JEF Spain)

In light of the recently started negotiations between the Greek government and the so-called ‘institutions’ (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund - formerly known as ‘Troika’) and the rescue fund ‘European Stability Mechanism’ (ESM), the third bailout programme will breathe life into the resolution of the European heads of state and government. Hopefully, the finger pointing between nations and their governments and the blame game between all involved parties will stop and Europe will be able to strengthen the friendship between the manifold peoples and cultures of Europe again.

In addition to the debate about positions of Member States and the negotiation process, it is our particular concern to raise awareness for practical proposals leading the eurozone and the European Union out of its institutional lack of problem solving for a sustainable future. We want to discuss why federalism remains the best way to achieve this objective and what this could ultimately mean for Europe.

We are looking forward to discussing the #Agreekment and the Greek crisis on a European scale with you! You can either join the broadcast live or watch it later on YouTube:
