How Does a VOIP Phone System Work?

Voip phones explained, easy to understand. Voice Over Internet Protocol is now commonly used in home phone systems. Instead of your voice being sent as a analog signal on the telephone company's copper wire network, it can be digitized and sent over the internet.

You can buy VOIP phones to replace your home phones or the existing land line traditional phones can be connected to an ATA - Analog Telephone Adapter. Your home phone may already be connected to an ATA that is built into your cable provider's cable modem router combo.

If you are paying a bundle price for your home phone, switching to your own Voip Phone provider can save around $20 a month on your phone bill. In this series I will have videos that show how to convert your home phone to VOIP.

Is there a real difference between using this type of phone if you call on voip to analog. If the signal is converted it would be analog to analog all over again or is it a miss understanding of mine?
