We travel to California with our rope horses to catch a lost mustang. The mustang escaped her pen and is on the loose. If we don't rope her, nobody will.

Seeing hank willingly chase after a horse at full speed for a long time just shows the level of trust between them.

Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. I'm a retired rancher from the interior of B.C., Canada. We use to gather up 20-30 head every winter, keep 6 or 8 .for our stock and sell the rest off. Preferably we'd go on this camp-out early Dec. and have 12-18 inches of snow, we had 3/ 2man teams with fresh horses and radios. This is back in the late 60's and we were young dumb and full of come. Our stratoge came from watching wolves hunting these herds down. We had a half dozen brush corrals scattered over 130, 000 Hect. The team that found the first bunch would get them going and stay with them for 3/4 to 1 hr. before being relieved by an other team and the 3rd was always trying to stay ahead sad predict their travel. Being 2 months into winter and poor feed the wild ones would last 3-5 Hrs. and they were done for, at that time we'd make a plan to driver them into a trap or rope. Real pain in the but trying to chase with 6 ropes on board, but it made for friends that you could count on for anything horse stock tougher than nails.. These were typically 7-10 day trips and neither man no9r beast came home high headed. Apart from calf sales this was the high lite of our years. Look forward to your next adventure with this lady. Cheers and well wishes, Billy in B.C.

Sounds like you guys needs two different sets of horses one set to find it and run it until it starts getting tired of running from you and the other set to keep it running till it finally gives up a running from you then you can actually catch it and take it back home too

Gotta be riding a mustang, to catch a mustang that doesn't want catchin' sometimes. Their endurance, hooves and leg strength is hard to match. (Esp since she's been well fed, & cared for by T.) As we saw!! Hope your ponies were ok, they were amazing!! God luck to you, and T, in future encounters with this mare. Happy New Year!

Takes a mustang to catch a mustang, especially in sagebrush like that

She’s smart and unencumbered by a 40# saddle and a rider. She also knows the country. Never was known to be an easy job.

It’s times like these that trained mustangs are great. One of the few things that can really run down a wild mustang is a not so wild one.

My Grandfather once went after a gelding that a ranch hand lost to the mustangs. It took some cousins on horses and in trucks to back him up and he had a 5 horse 'strand' to chase them down. As he was running the herd/gelding down he would transfer to the next horse on the string as the horse he was riding would get tired. He was on the last horse ( my mom's gelding) by the time he finally caught the loose gelding. He said it was a wild ride and was lucky that the whole string was willing to run after them.

Use dirt bikes and plenty of gas!! on either side of the fence and more horses to rest those that run after her! Another thing. Someone in the comment mention let her be free, yes. Have you guys thought about why was the reason she escape in the first place?. Is fun seeing you all going through the troubles on trying to catch her, but that horse is one step ahead of you all and smart and at one point she was looking back at one of you that was chasing her. She still out runs you all, even though she has her legs and u all have machines and legs. So in otherword... born stay wild she DON'T want to get trap. So when you guys catch her, where are you all going to place her and what she will do when she's roped?. Keep posting!. Love the shows and it does bring me back memories.

Wow!!! What a crazy video. The power of a wild horse to run like that. Nothing but respect for her. Hopefully you get her soon. Can’t wait for the next episode!
