. . still have my 2014 RS6 C7 since 2016 now on 70K miles . . daily user to work (when the office is open) travelled extensively to race tracks across Europe and to Lillehammer once . . I love it . . tuned to Stage 2 with a sports exhaust . . never fails to make me happy driving and hearing that exhaust growl . . serviced twice a year oil change and had no breakdowns except for 1 radiator hose loom (cost £300) plus 1 set of pilot sport tyres and 2 sets of front brake pads and discs . . averaged so far 18mpg because I have a rather heavy foot . . but on a cruise at 75mph she averages 28mpg . . best Audi car I have ever owned . . and not looking to replace even at £8 a gallon

The older one got that 'nice feeling' with the analog speedos and the more rigid interior, and also the sound isn't as muffled/suppressed. I don't like the new one its like a spaceship with no soul.

Great video and review. I have let go of a C7 RS6, which I had new in 2013, this May. 139, 000 miles I did! Amazing car in so many ways (except for MPG, 5 sets of new tyres and 5 sets of pads / discs all around). After one year I also had the Litchfield Type 2 conversion (see Top Gear mag for details) which lifted it to 740 BHP with little more than a remap and bespoke exhaust system. It took my from Reading to Scotland and back several times! Loved it. Now have a new RS5. I love the RS5, but it was a decision to downgrade, could just not cope with the running costs of a new RS6. Nothing like the brute force of the RS6. A classic car in the making (C7 or C8). Mark.

I like the c7 exterior, and the c8 interior ... but that grey is so quiet, its shots.

Look at the siders web by the interior mirror in the C7 😂👍

Just bought one, nice blue 2016 Performance. Might be in touch about Apple Car play.

I have had both air suspension and DRC C7 RS6's and although the DRC is harsher, it's way better to throw around. I've driven two C8's but just can't get on with them, they are missing something, maybe the sound and driver feedback, I am not sure exactly. For the moment The C7 has low enough miles for me not to be looking for a replacement, but I will be stumped when the time comes.

Just saw a c8 on the road today. Sure the c7 sounds nice but the c8 really looks brutal. I prefer the c8

i have a c8 and the c7 feels like a big barge to drive after having the updated one with all wheel steer, no comparison. As for the hybrid really helping mpg...lol he clearly didnt have car long, you be lucky to see 25mpg much unless on motorway. Although now tuned to 812bhp and 1135nm mine can get 30 mpg on m way. most of time in the teens having fun.

Joe Achilles has also raised the problem with new RS6 doors - they often just don't shut, due to the air compression inside the cabin. It's too tight!

Being well past my show off years, I appreciate a performance car that is more subtle. My old r36 passat ticks that box but whilst it's performance is more than enough for me, the rs6 is a different league . I'm not sure I could use that amount of power, I quite like pushing a car to near its limits and I don't think I'd want to do that in an rs6. The odd burst here and there. I suppose there's always the track but it's going to be too heavy for that.
Anyway, it's a hell of a car, lol

Great review as always Andrew. I've watched you from years back and your content is exactly what I'm after. No fuss. No ego. Thanks for all your hard work.

Great review, very informative. For your C7, how did you upgrade to carplay? Been looking for good options for my c7 S6. Thanks

Are all Audi designers now aged under 25? Prefer your C7 all day long.

Do like the MMI screen just slide out seamlessly and the climate control buttons on the C7. The C8 should have these two features to get my custom.

Im getting old, have loved this car since the RS2, but find the latest incarnation just too much, 10% is usable on the road the rest is stats.
Have just got back into a mildly tuned R5 Turbo and can honestly say 150bhp is all you need to have an absolute blast on the roads.
