Their is a book out there, Homage to Oceania, which is an analysis of Orwell's life and work. (written in the 1960s, i think.) The title is an homage to Homage to Catalonia. 10/10 recommended reading

Though you are right about Orwell's attitude throughout the book, I think you should mention a huge theme found within it. You should fight for a cause you believe in no matter how small a chance it has at success. It kinda culminates in Catalonia when he mentions the scene in France where he and his wife look at each other and recall everything they went through in the last few months and instantly both wanted to go back to Spain.

the experience that George Orwell had in spain were really interesting and it changed this mind on socialism as a whole and i really do love learning about that man some time is just so interesting the whole thing worth looking into imo

Glad Mr. Kemp is getting some attention now. His books are great reads. He actually had a three part series, first starting with MWOT, then a read set in ww2 (the best one imo) and the last in the east indies attempting to reassert dutch rule in the area
