I bought this machine earlier this year. I am a retired toolmaker who has done thousands of drill points. Now, having my own shop, I will never sharpen by hand again (under 1/2"). This thing is so quick and precise. Split point sharpening is awesome too. Thanks for the video Mr. Pete!

Yes, complete the product demonstration by demonstrating the point splitting procedure!
This was an excellent video!

Yes, I would be interested in the split point demonstration. Good job, I was taught in school to sharpen by hand, its a shame they dont teach this anymore

Mr. Pete I sharpened tools for years. That is a quality tool from what I have seen. I recommend when teaching someone else to grind use a black sharpie to cover the drill edge. It will show the many different angles you are trying to describe.

Hi Mr. Pete. I’m very interested in a part 3 video demonstrating split point grinding. Thanks for being a great shop teacher.

I've been sharpening drills by hand for about 50 years, but lately my eyes and hands are not what they used to be. Can't thank you enough for demonstrating this model. I'm going to purchase one today, thanks to your recommendation. And also, a great thanks to your dedication in teaching all of us out here.

I like this machine compared to the Lisle, which I found extremely tedious to use. I'd love to see how to split the points.

Dad taught me how to sharpen bits freehand at home. When he became my boss in the mill he showed me the Lisle and gave me the pamphlet. He caught me sharpening freehand one day. He asked why. The Lisle takes too long to set up for each size and I was taught well. That was the last time I used it.

Most informative, Mr. Pete. I still take my drills into work and have the tool & die guys sharpen them for me. However, I'm retiring soon and I'll lose my access to that grinder. So this was a timely video.

From use, I find split point drill bits have less wander and possibly step and pilot drilling. Depends on the project of course. Yes, I would be interested in seeing how this machine does this.
Thanks for posting this, I didn't know Vevor had these. I have a few Vevor tools within a short time. Plasma utter, extension cord, and other items. So far, very pleased.

Excellent demo! I'm sold. I would definitely want the 135 degree capability, since at this point that's almost all I use in the CNC machines. Great work as always, Mr. Pete!

I've always looked down on these. Having never used on on person in, I always thought that these were light and more of a gadget. But as you have pointed out, this particular one seems to be really well made. Maybe the Lisle style is much better, but since I can't get one I might consider the Vevor.
Sorry for the long rant, thanks for sharing you thoughts on this machine! Take care!!

The key to sharpening a drill bit is, will it cut after sharpening. You proved that at the end of the video. I have both a older Dardex and drill doctor both. The biggest problem of both is getting the bit position properly for a correct grind. The Dardex is usually no problem. But the Drill Doctor, I could never get it to sharpen a bit worth a flip that would cut without applying heavy pressure! I'm sold on the Vevor drill sharpener. Thanks for sharing, Ken

You explain things in a way that is easy to understand. You are a good teacher.

Interesting sharpener...I saw that one that Abom used, the machine that is 100% a drill bit grinder only. It's fairly rugged and heavy duty made which uses some sort of a cam lobe to move the bit to get just the right relief or behind the cutting edge. That one is likely thousands of dollars and no longer made so this Vevor seems fairly decent for the DIY shop.
