we should teach kids that when life isn't fair, they should work to overcome it, not sit back and let it continue being unfair.

I can't think of a time I've ever heard someone say that "life is unfair" when the unfairness they are talking about is a deliberate decision on someones part and that someone is usually them. That phrase is just an excuse for cruelty and selfishness.

One of the best and so hurtful true tedtalks I've seen. It really touched me, because of the impact the adults have on your younger generations and how we grow a generation of depressed, nonmotivated and hopeless kids. I wish more people would see this tedtalk and realize, what we are doing wrong and how much deeper this problem goes, than it is shown in this short presentation! thank you for this video!

now im crying and heres why
when i was little i, like many kids, said i wanted to be an artist when i grew up. my parents hut that dream down quick "its very difficult to make that into a job that pays." both of them work in the medical field and make good money, but what they said has stuck with me. i stop myself from dreaming because its never going to happen. its unrealistic, out of everyone what makes you think it'll be *you* who makes it?
that one thing they said shuts down any positive memory because "life catches up and it shows you it isnt sunshine and rainbows". i was little when they said that. around five years old i was taught not to dream too big, so i didnt dream. whats the point of hoping for something unattainable?
remembering this brings back years of shutting myself down to happiness and hope. let kids dream, kids should be happy and carefree. let them be kids.

For the life being unfair part you should just teach people that no matter where you start you can finish somewhere great, because life is most definitely unfair and its ok, you can over come it.

The reason so many adults are wrong when it comes to this is because they don't want to believe that kids are suffering because of their consequences, especially when they have the ability to get away with it by saying kids are uneducated or less experienced or don't know what they're talking about. Well jokes on you because I go to school and I learn the sea history you do and I watch the same news you do, so how is it possible that our perspectives are different only because one party happened to be born earlier than the other?

Honestly when people tell you "don't dream big, be realistic" I think instead they should tell you "well, as long as you work hard, you can achieve your dreams." Since it conveys a more positive message and lets them still dream big. For me it was my dream to become a youtuber (who posts videos of stories animatics an animated series etc.) When i was younger most people laughted it off and kept tossing the idea in the corner 'you'll change your mind when your older' but for 7 years from a young kid i have worked hard, improving my art, stories, watching other people etc. Today, i have a partly finished animation and will soon post. I'm still far from my goal, but... we'll get there. In conclusion, as long as you work hard, *you* can do anything.

What if mental people weren’t actual crazy what if we’re the ones that are crazy for not believing them (when a person sees things I’m talking in that kind of way) what if we’re simply crazy for not seeing what they see but we don’t wanna be crazy and don’t give this a thought and just assume they need help and that they’re crazy

In the past older people looked at younger people with envy because they the whole world at their fingertips and opertunities that the older person never had but today its just the opposite; older people feel sorry for younger people because the world is almost impossible to live and thrive in, the system needs to be changed so there be a livable future for mankind.

if i tell someone that calling my prescription "medicine" hurts my feelings they would probably tell my that im too sensitive. to me, medicine is a prescription that is meant to fix something and medication is a prescription that is meant to help you but It doesn't fix anything. calling my ADD medication a medicine makes me feel like there is something wrong with me.

Life is unfair mostly because we allow corruption by the sociopaths to continue.
