Triangles in a square video tutorial

This tutorial is for a paper piecing block. Regular templates are also available.

This is the perfect block to start paper piecing and make blocks with perfect points with no effort.

I use printing paper but you can use phone book paper or any other paper you have available. The thinner the better.

Use a shorter stitch setting so it's easier to remove the paper at the end.

The triangle in square block, in my view, is one of the most underused blocks in quilting. IN addition to the versatile designs you have demonstrated, it works in a simple nine patch as a radiant star block when the TIS blocks are placed in the middle, outside blocks. I use a specialty ruler for making these in multiple sizes.

This is a pretty good tutorial, though why it is at warp speed I can't fathom. I suggest you go into settings (the little wheel-like icon at the bottom right hand corner of the video) and click on Playback Speed. Choose 0.25 and it will slow it down to where you can actually follow and learn how to make this block. Oh, and mute the sound when you slow down these speedy type video's. It's just music in this case anyway and distracting while trying to learn how to make this block.
