YZ125 vs. KTM 125 2 Stroke | Which Bike is Faster?

Which bike is faster? A 2023 Yamaha YZ125 or a KTM 125SX? Let's find out!
We've been building what we think might be the worlds best 125cc 2 Stroke dirt bike, the 'Minizilla' is a YZ125 that's had the full Hardcore racing treatment. The bike is a fully race tuned rocket ship which a big list of upgrades and modifications. To find out how good the bike truly is we're putting the head to head against it's biggest competition, a race ready KTM 125! We've drafted in a true two stroke prodigy to complete the test, and i think you'll guys will agree that Wal Beaney is a real 125cc savage! :-)

That YZ sounds really strong. There's something about a very well set up 2T that just sounds different. Its like a hard but fairly high pitched thump. You don't hear it much outside factory race bikes but this has it.
Thats a heck of a piece of work for a 125cc.

id say a stock ktm would beat a stock yz but with those upgrades, 250fs would have their work cut out for them. that yz is a B E A S T

I'm a ktm 125 guy, have been since 2003, I've owned a yam in that time but always gone back to the ktm.
Just from watching this vid you can very clearly hear how potent that yam is, i reckon if i was ther track side the hairs on my arms wouldve been standing on end.

I have to admit...both bikes are music to my ears, but that YZ is unreal!!! Not only does it sound good, it looks so awesome!!! Great job!!!

I'd take that YZ over the KTM any day!! The YZ sounds much crisper and the fact that a pro rider gained almost a full second on a bike that's not set up for him and he's not used to says it all. Nice work Roland!!

Grew up on Yamahas, always wanted a kx (i love green) or a ktm because they were different. Yamaha has stood the test of time. I just traded a kx for a ktm 125sx and its engine just left for a total rebuild. I cant wait to ride it. Next is a new 250 and more 85s for all the kids to play on. Haha. My sister has a ton.

Another banger from yall, i would most likely choose the YZ in my garage since thats what ive grown up with. Not saying i wouldnt like the KTM, i love KTM but Yamaha just has a special place in my heart.
