How To Fix Add Friend Not Showing On Facebook

There are several reasons why adding friends doesn’t show on Facebook.
If the other person has a public figure option and not a normal profile, you can add them as friends. You can only follow them.

Another reason could be because you are blocked by that person. If you also send a friend request previously and they rejected it, it won’t let you send them a friend request. If they did this by mistake, just ask them to friend request you.

It may also be because they have their privacy set to an option that doesn’t allow for friend requests.

Lastly, they may be at the 5000 friends limit and can’t accept any more friends.

Mine only gives option to follow me, even though my setting is that everyone can request me. I only have around 300 friends, so, far from the 5k limit. And the person trying to add me has never tried before so not an issue with repeat add/unfriending.

Any other ideas?

Facebook used to serve tons of Friend Suggestions to me previously but out of a sudden I can no longer see any even though my 'Who can send you friend requests?' is set to 'Everyone'. I'm at my wits' end trying to figure out what could be the cause. Any help will be much appreciated.

so i can't see posts or even search my girlfriends name on facebook but we are already friends. so to be more clear when i search her name nothing pops up and to add her has the person i am in a relationship with and i type her name nothing comes up. and again we are friends with eachother. she can search my name and set me as the person she is in a relationship with and have no troubles.

I can see my friend when I go to my friend list but I cannot see them when I want to add them to a group. They are even marked in my close friend list. This video did not help me what so ever. So my husband and I are friends on Facebook, connected on Facebook, but every time he clicked on my profile, it wouldn’t show my cover photo, any of my friends, or any of my pictures I had put up. I went through everything on trying to change my privacy seeing if it was blocked, nothing worked, and then I realized maybe if I sent him a message Then everything became visible. You guys have to send the person a message. They need to open the message then just click on profile. Should be visible.

Hi. My issue is I can’t search for a friend in my friends list. When I put in any name it say ‘ No friends to show’. My friends list does show alphabetically but I can not search for a friend, I have to scroll down manually until I get to their name. Nope.. I'm thinking it has to do with something on Fbs side of things now.. cuz both the last 2 friends I've tried to add we all have the same public settings and everything.. so I'm thinking I've been 86'd by fb or something
