Tory Party exodus continues as another Downing Street aide resigns

An eighth Conservative MP has confirmed they've submitted a letter of no confidence in UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

MP Aaron Bell earlier accused the Prime Minister of taking him “as a fool” over ‘Partygate’ allegations.

Now, a fifth Downing Street aide has resigned in the span of 24 hours over the saga.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak has also distanced himself from the prime minister over comments Mr Johnson made to Opposition Leader Sir Keir Starmer.
