Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has accused successive Conservative prime ministers of being “negligent” in reforming policing in light of the “grim detail” of the Casey report.

Speaking at a press conference at the Labour party headquarters in central London on Tuesday, Sir Keir said policing is “collapsing” after 13 years of Tory government.

“Successive Conservative prime ministers have diminished the fight against crime and done nothing to reform the police. In short, they’ve been negligent,” he said.

Sir Keir called the Casey report’s findings a “warning” for “every” police force even though it looked into the Met Police specifically.

He said: “There will be police forces, outside of London, who might shrug their shoulders and say ‘this isn’t us’. But I have worked in criminal justice for decades and I say to them: wake up.”

No UKwide policing as Scotland's Police are separate.

Scotlands Police force is on its knees after years of SNP cuts. Police stations being closed down all over Scotland. They get plenty money from the UK gov, more than enough, and wadte it on vanity projects and propping up ferries that might never sail.

Starmer has one rule for us and another rule for himself on his pension fortune, the man that couldn’t even prosecute Jimmy Saville.
