Warning UK faces worst cost of living crisis in generation

It's the worst squeeze on incomes since records began 30 years ago: a double whammy of soaring energy bills and rocketing inflation.

Millions of households across England, Scotland and Wales will see their annual energy bill rise by almost £700 in April - as the Bank of England warned that by then inflation could be as high as 7.35%.

The chancellor has announced some measures to cushion the blow - but the Resolution Foundation think tank says that even taking that into account - another 2.5 million families will now be plunged into fuel stress.

All this while MPs claim energy bills for their second homes as expenses.

Remember folks, if we taxed unearned incomes of the rich at the same rates as dividends we would raise enough money to pay for a 5Kw Solar generation system to be installed on for every residential house in the UK within a decade.

So, crime is, according to the PM and Home Sec., down by 14%, but only when fraud is excluded. The Head of Official Statistics watchdog says that if fraud and computer crime are added, then the figure would be an Increase of 14%. He criticises the PM as being misleading'. Still, as we have seen, Fraud is not a crime in the Tories' book.

Rishi will not need to adjust to rising prices being the wealthiest mp and his father in law being a billionaire. It will not impact the MPs lives and definitely not Rishi life !

All manipulated, there's no fuel shortage. We're like fish in a barrel. The whole energy business needs to be dismantled, there's too much deliberate confusion, too many tariffs invented to rip people off. Let's have one price per unit for gas and one for electricity, no deviations. The whole business is unfit for purpose and stacked in favour of power companies, a cartel with nothing to fear from toothless regulators. This is one issue all people can unite on.

The Chancellor's economic policys are out of date.. and this is a good example showing he is totally out of his depth.. time for him to resign..

The reason reason is profiteering. As soon as the price cap increase was announced you saw that shareholders got a larger payout. So the energy cost can't be increasing, only the profits are!

As long as we're not self-sufficient in food and energy, and are therefore relying on the ever crazier world to supply us, we are going to be dealing with this sort of thing forever!

Let's not forget the Chancellors back story. Sunak was part of a small team of hedge fund bosses who shared nearly £100m after an audacious stock market bet that lit the touchpaper on the 2008 financial crisis. Sunak was a partner at the hedge fund TCI when it launched an activist campaign against the Dutch bank ABN Amro in 2007, resulting in its sale to the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

I don't understand the way that this government works. They say that there is no money and the prices will go up. And just a few days Boris Johnson announced that he will help Ukrania with £88 melion. I think he should spend and help with this money to the British people instead.
