When my wife and I married in yorkshire (1968) we bought our house off plan and we were skint every month but we went shopping in Castleford for a small radio. We found one in a very small corner shop but we did not have enough cash, the lady manager said take it home and pay the extra later, she did not know us the trust was out of this world - we were back within the hour to pay. (We still have the radio)

Here in the USA, we are being taxed into oblivion as well. Utility bills, food, car/home/health insurances have doubled. Margin of monthly saving being decimated and attacked from every angle possible. We are being robbed without a gun here!

You would be surprised what people will steal when they are hungry. I remember years ago being a single mum with two
Young sons and having no money at all, I didn’t eat, but of course I had food for my sons, I would eat their left overs. At times I didn’t have money for petrol to even take my children to school (we lived 20 mins away from the school with no school bus) I didn’t drink or smoke or have any extras for myself, any income went to my boys. I remember one day being in the supermarket, feeling so desperate, so alone and wanting to provide for my kids, I remember thinking - now I know why people steal. Of course I never did and I would never do that, we got through and I would have felt 100 times worse knowing that the very thing I thought my children - to always be honest, never treat anyone disrespectfully, always be polite and kind, never steal, work hard etc. Times are a lot tougher now than they were then and I don’t know how people survive. I left my husband with one bed a couch and a tv, some pot and kitchen items, we did it hard, we collected firewood from the beach and once that heat was gone we would get into bed with each other and snuggle in to keep warm. It doesn’t do you any harm to go through this, it teaches you a lot and I m so grateful now to be able to say I have a roof over my head and to have food in my cupboards, I don’t have much but I have enough. I raised two incredible kids who have gone on to make me proud and they are incredible human beings. Anyone just my thoughts❤

It is intentional! You are to be poor, scared, fearful of your neighbors, unable to complain with out risking prison... And totally helpless!!

"He's applauding the drone strike where the fossil fuel went up ... " Same thing with the Nordstream pipeline, hundreds of cubic miles of Methane dumped into the atmosphere, not a squeak from the Greens.

The cause of ALL the misery and suffering in the world today can be directly traced back to government policies. Politicians are the greatest global terror threat.

I'm getting so much stronger...

I used to need both arms to carry £100's worth of shopping.

Now I can easily carry it with one arm.

In the country in Alberta Canada our electric bill in the winter last year was around 850$ per month. Not to mention the huge increase in food prices etc.

In the UK taxes are raised when serfs can’t pay their ration of wheat to the landlord. If you can’t pay enough this year, you will have to pay more next year to fulfill your obligation.

I’m trying to be so frugal, I know I will have to be very, very careful.I’m still prepping & I prep for my two dogs.I see comments about leaving and I think for people in my community that will never be an option, meanwhile my village is filling up, the other day I got in the house & I was shaking because a man would not stop glaring at me in the park, a tall newcomer.I see more people now walking through the village instead of entering the park, so sad.

I don’t understand why the English people tolerate a royal family living in obscene luxury while some of the people can’t afford heat.

Yep. People steal shopping carts to scrap for metal. I saw two guys just yesterday with a Walmart basket full of harvested industrial wire on Salt Lake City Trax train on their way to the scrapper. I asked them how much it was worth. They said $1 a pound. I don't know if the scrap yard will accept shopping carts though they do wire and other scrap metal. I wondered how they got the bungles of wire, but didn't ask. Poverty and homelessness is very expensive to the low income hit by the resulting inflation as business operating costs are always passed onto customers. Odd thing is I was looing at videos of traveling in Thailand to find prices for food and things aren't any higher than 10 years ago.
