Police in Montgomery County have issued a warning to residents amid rising thefts of Honda vehicles over the last two months.

Upper Merion Township police are investigating fewer than a dozen cases and say thieves have targeted apartment complexes in the Gulph Mills area.

"I understand two tenants from the development have had problems," one resident of Gulph Mills Village Apartments told Actions News.

Hondas used to be the #1 cars stolen in America in the mid 90s to early 2000s guess that trend is coming back.

If they can’t steal you Honda they’ll steal your wheels

1. Cover the VIN on the dashboard
2. Use a steering wheel lock
3. Use a car cover
4. Install a dummy OBD II connector
5. Install a remote battery disconnect switch
6. Park with your front wheels turned to the left or right
7. Keep your key fobs in a faraday pouch

Everything is a target for these lazy losers that prefer to take other people’s stuff instead of getting their own! I can’t stand thieves!! 🤬😡

Another example of worthless journalism. Tell a story but never got to the root of the problem to identify exactly how the theives are taking these cars so owners can put on defensive measures!

so if Honda knows there is a problem, they should supply the tracking for FREE, not charge for it.

Lawmakers are useless! It should be 20 years mandatory in jail for car theft including minors

It’s not just Hondas, they can mimic the FOB signal from other car manufacturers too, including Toyota.

A lock on the brake will definitely stop them. Thieves don’t want to take the time to work on the lock. I have a clutch lock on my Subaru STi with an AirTag hidden in the car. Plus people can’t drive stick nowadays 🤷🏾‍♂️

Wish they would specify which years of Honda they are targeting (instead of just saying "newer").

They can find you in your own car if you do a crime and running away, but the moment your car got stolen they can’t locate it 😅

So their solution is to spend money on their useless service and buy an AirTag? How about making it harder for thieves to steal cars by adding tougher encryption.

they can't steal your Honda if you don't have a car to begin with

Imagine putting that much time and info into doing something productive. So now the consumer has to buy a subscription and a $90 air tag? I'm starting the think these corperations are in cahoots with the thieves. Mighty funny how now we need to put more money into their pockets when our stuff shouldn't be vulnerable to being stolen.

Wow, they found out how to override the computer, imagine what they could have done if they didn't resort to crime. The average person probably doesn't even understand how it works.
