Low Chlorine In Salt Water Pool

Do you have a salt pool with a low chlorine level? You've checked the salt level, the computer board, and all the sensors. And your salt water pool still has little to no chlorine? This could be the problem.

Scaling of the chlorine cell.

Salt pools will naturally increase the pH, and when we have high sustained pH with high sustained calcium hardness, this happens. Things start to scale up, and scaling on a chlorine cell makes it harder for the cell to produce the chlorine.

And this is especially true if you live in a place with hard fill water. We should inspect and/or clean the cell every 3 months, for optimal chlorine output and longevity of the cell.

So if you haven't checked your chlorine generator in a while, maybe now is a good time to do just that. And let's hope your cell doesn't look like this one.
