In this video I find Rocky Mountain smoky quartz in a small pocket. I show what I found on the surface that sparked my interest, and then the video picks up in my test hole where I am finding good signs that leads to a crystal pocket! I thought the pocket ended; but upon subsequent trips I discovered the pocket continued with some wonderful specimens! Stay tuned for more footage of this awesome quartz pocket where I'm finding crystals!

Human hands; still the best tool ever invented for digging cool stuff from the ground

I really prefer these wholesome quartz pocket videos as opposed to the silly rich folk who are using machines to tear deep into the earth with little to no effort. This type of prospecting is just so much cooler & magical. Well done sir

Finally he says why the flat sides are important. I have wondered why I only ever find a rather plain quartz rock. Now I will keep digging. :)

What a thrill! I would of thrown my phone and gone in with two hands! Your patience is commendable! Haha thanks for sharing!

Best way to find them is to GET OUT THERE AND ADVENTURE. Yes, do your research but make it a point to really take the time to be intentional about being outside, trying something new, and letting nothing hold you back. My girlfriend Nicholette is a prime example of someone who does just that, shes in a wheelchair but is relentless about being outside. Live free, friends <3

I took a hiking trip through the Sierra Nevada. At the start of the hike we were surrounded by mountains and we were in a grassy valley type of area. I see a whitish rock sticking out of the ground that for some reason caught my eye, just had an interesting shape. I stopped my group to dig it up and once I fully uncovered it I had a 7 inch long beautiful rock. I thought I found something magical but was informed it was quartz and all over in that area but the piece I found was definitely worth holding onto. I cleaned it up and still have it from that trip. It has flat sides but is far from perfectly flat and eventually realized it was milky quarts but still cool

Oh my goodness thank you so much for this. I live in the Appalachian mountains and want to go dig crystals but had no idea even how to, I know where to look, but not how to find them. Thank you so much. Blessings!🙏🥰

Those flat sided quartz crystals looked perfect to make arrowheads and knives from, all I find is vein quartz so hopefully I can get lucky and find a pocket one of these days.

Nice to see the careful puzzling a pocket by hand, and that point is such a treat!

This is so awesome, congratulations! My partner and I recently got into rockhounding. We're in the Pikes Peak area. Any tips on where to dig? Much appreciated!!

I can see how you'd want to rush in, in that excitement just tear everything up, just take your sweet time. Loved the last flat piece and ladybug. There's Some nice chubby crystals in that hole. Thanks again, great video 👍🏼
