In your opinion, when you look at a river like this, what do you see?
Well, if you don't see anything but water and a lot of ordinary stones, you should know that in the eyes of a professional prospector, this river is a great opportunity to find precious stones of the highest value.
Now you may ask yourself.
But how does a prospector find these stones?
Well, the answer is easier than it seems, because in this video you'll see how it is possible to find gems in rivers.
That's right, especially if you live near a river, or if you like to go for walks in nature, near the water's edge.
Usually these places are full of small stones and minerals, and it's exactly in these places among the ordinary stones that you can find precious gems disguised as ordinary stones, so it's best to keep an eye out.

Thank you for this information! I’m in eastern New York and have found many semiprecious gems in a creek near me! Some of them are disguised as normal rocks, until you wet them! I’ve found a ton of garnet, different varieties of chert and jasper, quartz, sodium-rich plagioclase feldspar, labradorite, sunstone, and even pyrite!

Hi thanks for this, I'm on the West Coast of Wales in the UK where there are many rivers running down into the sea. You've just changed the way we'll go walking along the beach where the rivers meet the sea. I will make a piece of jewellery out of a beach stone for sure, thanks for the inspiration
Thank you and kind regards. . . Andy

Love this video.... Yes, anyone can find any gem stone, but it is all persistence, research, time, money and luck. You did not mention that "Down where the garnet goes, so to does the gold flow!" This is what my father taught me. Good luck prospectors and make sure to read all the fine print, get permissions first and watch your 6. Hugs from Esquimalt

Loved your video,
I live in Bethany, CT. I have a beautiful brook that runs length wise through my back yard. It is roughly eight feet wide and gets moving very fast after a rain storm. I have found some interesting stones on my property, even komatite with spinifix texture rocks. I just bought this 1935 property last Spring, now I am sure I will be spending time with a sifting pan so one day I could pay off the mortgage!

My sister had a friend who had private beachfront property on Puget Sound, in Seattle. Because it wasn't frequented by beach-combers, she'd find amber almost every time she looked! After seeing this, I kinda wish i'd looked a bit closer while visiting. I have the Great Miami River (just south of Dayton) down the road from me, but I don't think it's too conducive to poking around for rocks -- it's got a pretty fast, deep current!

I'm an OBSESSIVE rockhound from Southern WI in the USA. I have more boxes of rocks than I ever have of money in pennies 😅 My parents used to go into my room and my pockets and take out the rocks when I wasnt home 😱... I even used to take my kids to the school playground just so i could look for awesome tiny rocks in the gravel there!! 😂I have found some INCREDIBLE things in school playgrounds! 😊
