I was sent over to Germany to be an evaluator for an exercise while I was in the military. We were given a day off and took a trip there. It was beautiful.

Hello
There is so much more to see and to enjoy along the river Mosel.
Great local food, the best wines in the world, forget the French if you enjoy white wine!
And of course, don't miss out on Trier, my old home town.
The oldest city in Germany, a city build by the Romans 2000 years ago, with plenty of old Roman history still left, like the famous Porta Nigra....a great and massive building still standing, and the most important bridge in Trier, build 2000 years ago and also still standing, and being used every day.
Living in Australia these day's, I travel a lot to China.
Whenever I show my very old drivers licences from Trier, all the Chinese get very excited...!
Why?
Because Karl Marx was borne in Trier, every communist child had to know about good old Karl.

My tip for visitors, in summer,
hire a push bike in either Trier or Koblenz....and slowly travel along the Mosel for 2-3 days, it's a 90km journey.
German trains allow for pushbikes on trains, so going back is no problem.
It's mostly flat, anyone can do it, it's cheap and a great experience.
Some river cruise companies charge for the same trip 800 USD.
Anyway,
enjoy my old home country.
Cheers
