as a black person idk why ppl are pressed abt a braided ponytale. the box braids and cornrows are unacceptable but a pony with the braided ends is a style literally anyone can do. not cultural appropriation. that ones just a hairstyle that you can find the pinerest or tiktok girlies wearing. in all cultures.

most people don’t even know e****o is a slur. especially people on the other half of the world. and especially when as kids a lot of us have been shown racist caricatures of them in cartoons while calling them that word. i still think a statement should be made either by her or her company, because it’s still a slur at the end of the day. also what do y’all expect from koreans, who grew up in a society that has pretty much only praised light and white skin for years? i’ve heard from so many darker skinned koreans than people will really call you the n-word over there if you’re too tan. literally, korea’s beauty standard is very eurocentric. it’s just double eyelids and skinny with clear light skin. it’s not like jinsoul said she thinks it’s ugly.

I'll defend Jinsoul to the death over this, because her comments were pretty straightforward and obviously not implying that she dislikes darker skin on anyone else. It was taken out of context and blown up on SNS but her actual messages really just say that she wants her own tan to fade (which is reasonable because of KBS, whether int'l fans like that or not). She wasn't even the one who brought up skin lightening, it was an orbit who suggested it.

The clear picture is out for the Tamburins ad for Jennie and everyone confirmed that they are NORMAL braids in a ponytail, not box braids.
People need to stop judging idols before seeing the full picture. The video for the ad was dark so people did not see clearly but were so quick to call it CA.
Check again - there are clearer images now with more pictures uploaded from the instagram of Tamburins and they are indeed normal braids!

The only thing I have to say concerning Jennie is you should be cautious when speaking about her, some stans are toxic to a point where it's alarming. Defending Jennie doesn't mean you should maliciously attack others, people are entitled to having a different opinion than your own. Yes at times people are being hateful towards her, but that's not all the time because sometimes you could just be giving constructive criticism and you're branded as a hater of Jennie.

I really think Jennie doesn’t want to be an idol anymore, you can tell within the last 2 years or so she seems to be suffering a lot with social anxiety and depression and she just doesn’t want to be in the spotlight anymore, anytime she's in the public eye she always wears a mask and or a hat over most of her face and she wont stop for photos or to wave, she just looks scared and makes a B-line for the exit. People can't expect an absolutely amazing performance from Jennie anymore cause i truly don’t think she likes being an idol anymore and I don’t think she’s happy, she doesn’t love what she’s doing anymore and that has slowly been showing over the last few years, and all of the people bashing her for something that is so clearly mental health based, saying she owes it to her fans to put on the show of her life every time she steps a foot out in public, yes her job is being an idol but think of any job you've hated and imagine having to bare through it everyday and then imagine on top of that billions of people demanding everything under the sun from you, hating on anything that you do, commenting on your body your weight comparing your talent to hundreds of others, degrading you daily, not giving you any privacy to live your own life and tell me you wouldn’t be this emotionally damaged as well.

go and watch jennies debut stages and watch how much she's enjoying herself on stage and how much she was thriving off the crowds and she was putting her everything into their comebacks because she really loved it, whereas more recently she looks like she would rather be anywhere else, the 'Blinks' and YG and the media have ruined her love for preforming, its so sad to see.

the ice cream brand defence is so stupid because we know she wasn't talking about ice cream. I do think she doesn't know that slur, as she isn't from a place with an inuit population, and racial slurs against native americans isn't as widely known as other offensive term. I think people should just educate.

Eskimo is a word USED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE IN OTHER LANGUAGES. It's not a slur in portuguese, so I think it isn't in korean.

jennie isn't lazy, aren't people tired of bringing up the sam old fake drag? pausing the choreo to concentrate on certain solo parts used to be a big thing back in 2nd gen kpop and also for yg artists in general. but since you all are so used to 4th gen dance competitions... you all should be grateful that jennie is brave enough to still go on stage after everything people put her through lately.
