Ben Moore is Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Zurich and director of the Centre for Theoretical Astrophysics & Cosmology. His research group uses custom built supercomputers to simulate the origin of cosmic structures, from the origins of planets and galaxies to the nature of dark matter and the large scale structure of the universe. He enjoys sharing knowledge through different media - from a regular column in Das Magazin to his 'late night science shows' at KOSMOS. He has written several popular science books for adults and children, including the best-selling "Elefanten im All - Unser Platz im Universum"/"Elephants in Space" - the history and future of life and the universe. His most recent book is "Mond - eine biografie" / "Moon - past, present & future". Under the artists name ‘Professor Moore’ he creates electronic music based around guitar melodies - his album “Escape Velocity” was inspired by dreams of space. He regularly collaborates with artists and musicians and has participated in Zurich’s famous Street Parade with his own love-mobile. He lives in Davos and where he enjoys exploring the stunning mountain landscapes with Bertie the labradoodle.
