Wow now that you mention this, I think I might have a form of synaesthesia. I remember being a young child while I was learning to read and write. I would refuse to read or write "angry" words (mostly words with K, T or W). I also remember drawing numbers when I was a kid and I'd intentionally shade certain numbers because they were "special numbers". These things have faded for me over the years but one thing I still feel to this day is colors. For example people say yellow makes you feel hungry and I tend to feel more hungry looking at the color yellow than others, red makes me feel angry, white = lonely etc.

I wanted to apologize for a comment that I made on your last video. Apparently I opened up a platform for somebody to support the Canadian that you were speaking with. He was trying to convince me that the one that you spoke with was only sharing his opinion. The concept of your last video was to get people to do a Scottish accent not have a political platform. I didn't engage in the comment that was posted to me because I don't discuss politics or religion outwardly I believe that everybody is entitled to their opinion and there's a time and a place to share them. I will say though it certainly got people talking about your video and at the end of the day you benefit from it because any publicity is good publicity. So thumbs up to you and your videos 👍 and again I apologize if I caused undue criticisms against you.

Ahh! This explains that video you posted about words that traumatized you. It makes good sense. Your channel is doing a great benefit to humanity

Can't believe I somehow missed this little gem of a talk so many years ago. I have a totally different palette of colors, of course. But the coolest thing you talk about in this - which I have never heard someone else express - is that they change based on what other components are near them. For me, sevens can be a little different based on their proximity to sixes; same with nines; fours are very often wildly different, definitely depend on the objects near them. I actually am able to remember phone numbers better than most because I get a color impression and if I can't remember the number, I can usually remember what the . . . banner probably looks like. But I also remember the sounds of the names of the numbers better than any visualized image of the shape of the symbol. I remember the color better than the shape, if that makes sense.

I did Ayahuasca back in 2015 and a guy in our group was playing the guitar. I could see the colors of the notes coming from the guitar. It was so so beautiful.

This is so fascinating. The only thing I experience that is remotely associated is that I can hear frequencies that are normally out of the normal human range. Like, back in the day of tube television, I could stand outside and tell you how many times you would turn the telly on and off.

I was in my early 20’s before I realised that not everyone associates colours with number/letters.

Yes I have this too! The number 1 is red for me, 2 is dark yellow, 3 is green, 4 is blue, five is orange... 😁

I think this a very special thing because it seems you may be tapping into more of what your brain is capable of. Kind of like you got the standard brain but w/a cool option upgrade! Awesome!

Wow. You naturally see reading books in beautiful colours. No need for highlighters or coloured pens.😍😍

I have that too. I thought that I was the only one, 😂 . I discovered the term recently and started to read more about it. It's just amazing. I can see a specific color for every letter and number. Also the days of the week and months. I also see colors for certain sounds.

Hi Erin - I really enjoyed this video - I have "Acquired Aphasia" which is the result of damage to my speech center at birth. I had to do speech therapy until I was about 9 years old and to this day (as a side effect), I am able to accurately tell when people are not telling the truth or to instantly read the emotions in the room which can be very fun or troubling depending on the situation. I feel it in my gut more than anything. No colors like you have but it is overpowering to me at times. Never have talked much about it, but it is not a burden but something I used throughout my career before I retired and I see it as a good thing.

Curious what you might see with my name... First name is Jon ;>) And yes, would love to see more videos on synaethesia.

I play the trumpet, flute and piano and each musical note is a colour in my head. It definitely helped me learn to read music when I was first starting out and I continue to use it when I’m learning a new piece. I don’t know if it really is synaesthesia but I thought it was interesting, letters have colours but not the same colours musical notes do and numbers have both colours and some have slight personalities like you.

I don’t have perfect pitch so it’s more difficult to see colours listening to music, but there is definitely a flow of colour as the music plays.
