I'm curious: why is there no Mac version of CorelDraw, PaintShop Pro or VideoStudio, but there is for Painter? I'm a Windows guy. The price for features ratio for Mac just doesn't make sense to me, though they are well put together. It's just something I'm curious about...

Also, I do see that you have the CorelDraw Essentials course on Lynda.com, which is GREAT! Does this mean more courses on PSP, or VideoStudio are coming? It's one thing that I think is a problem: not enough professional courses (hunting online gets tedious), whereas your biggest competitor has many books, Lynda.com courses and so forth.

I guess I will upgrade just for the "knife tool" alone. Because I requested this tool 2 versions ago. (since X6)... I can understand that they update their systems to be compatible with new technologies, 4K screens and so on... But they Forget to update all the "Tools" in CorelDraw. I don't mind photopaint as much. People need more FREEDOM with the DRAWING TOOLS.. After all, this software it was supposed to have advanced tools to "Draw" ;-)

Hace dos semanas me llegó la publicidad del X8 y la bajé para probarla, la promoción decía algo más de $2000 (arg.), cuando termino la prueba e ingreso para ver si lo compraba me encuentro que está a $4000 (arg.). Creo que deberían mantener la oferta durante el período de prueba.

Very little to tempt me to upgrade. As usual, I wait for "every other" version, skipping the next one to come along. That means it'll be X9 for me, assuming it has meaningful updates.

Vengo usando la versión X5, en su momento bajé la versión de prueba de X7 pero me daba muchos errores, ahora debido a la incompatibilidad del X5 con el Windows 10 bajé para probar el X8. En primer lugar me dió 16 días de prueba en lugar de 30 y por lo que pude ver hasta ahora tiene un problema al usar TEXTO, por bastante tiempo queda como tildado y luego reacciona.

As a long time DRAW user (since 1993), I have to say the last few releases have been lacklustre and lacking innovation – to say the least. Once you led the pack but now you copy the very competition who aped you, and not very well at that. The only thing added in recent years of note was the table tool, which was poorly implemented. CorelDRAW appears to be in a holding pattern. It would be kind to call this release 7.2, not 8. The new features are of minor interest.

Adobe Illustrator and even the erstwhile Freehand have had multiple attribute stacks for objects for years. It's a major creative and productivity boost when you're working to a deadline or have a complex illustration. And while Illustrator has major bloat in some areas and absurd omissions in others (like: no inline graphic, no bullets, moronic point (nodes to DRAW users) selection system), DRAW is gathering dust on my pcs.

The fanboys who always shout down anyone who criticises CorelDRAW don't get it: you don't improve a product by sycophantry and denial. You stagnate it. And that's what DRAW has done: stagnated. While we don't want feature bloat, we want to see the product at least measure up to the competition.

I don't really like Illustrator but I use it on a daily basis because despite its flaws, it's left DRAW in the dust. It's slowly subsumed every unique feature DRAW had and then gone one better. Never thought I'd see that. Sad. Shame on you Corel for another dull, uninspired and frankly insultingly sparse release. You expect an upgrade fee for features like multi monitor support that should've been there years ago?!

Corel utterly failed to support third party plugin developers, unlike the veritable army of Illustrator plugins, with many abandoning promising projects to move on to other concerns. The SDK is very possibly (but I'm hoping against hope) too little, too late.


Shame on you Corel. You've dropped the ball. I hope you get your act together, I really do, but in the meantime Illustrator is improving in leaps and bounds and by the time you wake up perhaps most of us will have moved on.

I downloaded the sample CorelDrawX8 and it wouldn't let me use it and when I went to use my CorelDrawX4 it changed my files. now there is no previews and the icons are huge. I want my CorelDrawX4 back the way it use to be.. PLEASE
