Statics: Finding A Vector In Cartesian Form In 2D (Example Problem)
Показать описание
In this video I go over over a simple example of finding a vector in cartesian form given the resultant vector, in two dimensions. This is usually one of the first topics covered in a college engineering statics course, and will be the basis for many other concepts covered later in the semester.

Summary for finding a vector in cartesian form in 2D:
1. Find the X and Y components of the vector (using trigonometry or geometry).
2. Write the vector in cartesian form (engineering notation using the i's and j's).
3. Test your answer by finding its magnitude and comparing to the given magnitude (using the pythagorean theorem).
