I like ALL the content. As a boat owner, I have a few suggestions. ALWAYS lower the drive when you run it (the driveshaft u joints will thank you) and never run the thing without water and muffs on the drive. The sea water pump wont last 5 seconds running dry. You can put a new impeller in it, but if you torch it, you will be replacing the whole thing. At the very least, slip the drive belt off and just run it for a minute before it overheats. Good luck!

When you run MercCruiser engines with outdrives, you should always lower the drive unit to reduce stress on the universal joint, especially when you test the gears. Good luck.

I think "Bought site unseen" Should be the new slogan for Rebuild Rescue! I will always be here to support the great things this channel does! Love the content so much!

Love what you do. No reason so many beautiful plane, cars, boats, are allowed to rot away. Great job!

I just love your channel! I’m completely non-mechanical, and watching you work on these projects is absolutely fascinating to me. And your wonderful upbeat attitudes and great sense of humor are infectious!

Can't wait to see that boat all cleaned up. Please do not wet sand it. I know some amazing compounds that will bring the finished back to life. I used it restore an abandoned sailboat. Thank you for another great start to a Saturday. Be safe guys.

Fabulous video guys ! I recall shipping over a 96hrs Chaparral 240 signature to the UK sight unseen. A 'national liquidators drive snatch'. No key or paperwork. The relief of hearing that v8 burst into life ... utter joy ! 😊 ... 🇬🇧

Joe looks like a completely different person than he did when he joined the channel! Amazing content and an amazing creator!

Don't accelerate while the stern drive is up because you will break the cross bearings also check your exhaust manifolds and the power trim

I am a boat mechanic and I also have the same boat with a 8.1 merqruiser, it's a very good boat and you got a great deal

Nice job! I personally like seeing you guys do more than fix airplanes all the time.

So glad you got it running! Get it cleaned up, fueled up & take it to the lake for a weekend. You got to test it out. Right? Then go on with your plan for it ❤

I bought 2 of these boats (23 and 26 foot)
1 was 403.00 and 1 was 270.00. They both run excellent and they are cleaning up very well. They will be beautiful boats when we are done. Can't wait to get em out on the water. The only problem we are having is the paperwork issues.
So I understand why you enjoy what you do, I share the same interest. Keep doing what you're doing, it's an awesome feeling when a project is all completed and you know it was your hard work that done it !!!

I'm an airplane and a boat guy so I love the channel. I'm a retired airplane mechanic and I really miss troubleshooting and turning wrenches on aircraft. Good thing I have a boat which keeps me busy! My boat has the Mercruiser 5.0. These motors are really bullet proof if they're maintained. Good job figuring out the fuel delivery issue. Looking forward to seeing this thing in the water soon.

One that would be a neat wish I had one.
Anyway. Jason for fuelling like that. For the big mouth jug, go to fleetfarm and buy your self a 4AA battery power pump that screws right on the jug. Then all you do is put the nozzle in the hole and press the button then walk away. It also has and autostop when it's full. When I got mine for racing it was $70

I’ve had huge success with using simple white vinegar on mould? You gotta try it!😊
Pour it into a cheap spray bottle?

Thank you Jason, and the rest of your great team. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, Hearing the engine fire up after your squirted easy start into the carb. Really gets your hope up, and I couldn't wait for you to actually start it. I'm looking forward to seeing the boat gleaming like new.

Awesome job getting it running. Don't forget to check the lower unit gear oil, and probably replace it. Can't wait to see it cleaned up and on the water!

Just so you know for future, never run boat when the outdrive is totally trimmed up, never run in without water because impeller gets instantly burnt.
Also what i suggest you to do because boat has been sitting for very long time to reolace or rebuild starter and alternator, replace central bearing which is in transom, bellow for u joints and hose which supplies outdrive with oil so you won't get water inside the boat or outdrive. That was heck of a deal, only outdrive and trailer already cover price of the whole boat, im pretty much sure when you get it all cleaned up and polished that it could be worth 20k+

Boat Parts, Jason, I have a ton of engine parts for a 350, pulleys, belts, Brackets, exhaust manifolds, and a fuel injection system all from a 2000 mercruser

I ever have a trim tab setup for that size boat
