Better than Hayabusa? Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE in Hyper Touring comparison 2022

preview_player

It scores with full equipment and all the shorter surcharge list - with the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE is simply everything on board electronics! Its supercharged engine is also absolutely unique in the touring world.
But is all this enough to make it stand out from the competition? In comparison with Aprilia Tuono V4, KTM 1290 Super Duke GT and Suzuki Hayabusa we find out!

The H2 SX SE woke up my inner child that missed having a sport bike.If you are bored with ADV bikes and too young for a Goldwing/RT, then this bike is what you are missing in the garage. Forget about the motor for a second and realize how well the bike delivers a planted feeling mid corner with this excellent stock suspension. Weight of the bike works in favor of it delivering that planted mid corner confidence as it doesn't get upset with bumps. I bought one thinking about the motor and was surprised with its all day comfort on my back road rides and bags loaded for the long weekend. Yes a 60 year old is back on a sporting motorcycle and not feeling stiff or sore after hours in the saddle. In a word, it's FUN!

well, nice review, but I'm a bit surprised that you found brakes to be bad.. I currently have 2023 H2 SX SE, I've put about 6kkm on it at this moment and those brakes are insanely good in my opinion.. with only one finger I can easily send rear wheel into the air yet they are still not sketchy and will not scare you with some insane first bite like some other bikes tend to.. but maybe someone just like that and it is that first strong bite, that you are missing.. also with this bike kawasaki finally managed to tune their ABS to not be as paranoid as in previous models like Z1000SX..

I have a 2022 Gsxs-gt 1000 a 2022 Bmw S1000RR and a 2022 Kawasaki H2 SX SE in my garage with a few others they are all fun and fast .and my older bikes are 2013 and 2015 Zx14r's and a 2014 zx10r done by guhl and brocks ....My Favorite is the H2 SX SE ..with both bikes in factory stock tune its fast as my S1000rr with equal weight riders and its comfy and handles .I love the suspension and how you can raise and lower the bike also from the handle bars with the skyhook suspension if your carrying luggage or passenger and blind spot monitor and radar cruise work insanely good never thought i would care about this but its been a game changer, cant wait for tuning 235 rwhp will be perfect for spanking a lot of fast bikes with unsuspecting riders, i got a 10.07 141mph out of it on my draggy on the street compared to 10.21 at 145 on my bmw .. the kawasaki it way faster to 1000ft lots more tq down low the bmw needs to be revved and wrung out to 13700 and pulls much later in the revs ..I think the H2 SX SE is a amazing sport touring bike yes its pricey but its like owning ART that you can Ride .Just my opinion ...I say pick what you like to ride and enjoy it as you have to pay for it !!!!

all those electronics got me more closer to the Hayabusa…H2 SX is no doubt a great bike, but when performance comes together with simplicity…I stand with the Peregrine Bird.

I absolutely love my 2018 H2 Sx Se . The bike was great stock, but I did some work to it to make it faster and stop better. My bike made 271 hp atw and 114 ftlbs tq.

Great review of a brilliant bike.. I don't think the Hayabusa can be included as a hyper tourer though. There is no integral luggage option to cover the "touring" part of Hyper Touring.

I really wanted one, but I just couldn't ignore the hayabusa for the price. It was literally 10 grand less than the H2 SX. And I prefer the insane torque of the 1340cc. I also don't ride that far away and even if I did the hayabusa is still comfortable enough

I bought one I'm 2018, when they launched in SA. I regrettably sold it, but now the price has just become out of my reach.
It has jumped from R280k (when launched) to app. R750k now. that's about R50k American dollars.
Kawasaki why did you raise the price of this bike so much.
It has become to unaffordable, that even Kawasaki South Africa won't bring in any units, unless you give them 50% deposit and be prepared to wait 6 - 12 months.
I still think it's the best sports tourer, with the best

These bikes are heavily restricted especially at higher rpms from the factory, there are solutions for the release of the full power at full throttle, good review otherwise

Just needs Apple/Android CarPlay. Honda figured this out for the Africa Twin and Gold Wing

I blame the braking issue due to stupid abs
which is useless in any vehicle and should be removed . You should be able to turn abs off easily .

It’s an awful looking bike, especially in that colour. Looks incredibly plasticky, but it has some super tech.
