I own several tweed jackets, including a Harris tweed, which is woven in the Outer Hebrides islands in Scotland.

I recently found a Harris Tweed, genuine Harris, in a thrift store for 10 bucks. It shows zero signs of wear, real dark brown leather buttons without any scuffs on them, and fits me like a glove. It had pads in the shoulders, which I removed by opening the lining, cutting the thread holding the pads, and sewing the lining back. It now drapes perfectly on my shoulders giving a sharp, but very natural shoulder without any lumpiness at all. The color is a light brown and white herringbone, giving it a softer look than the wool actually feels. Here's the interesting part, inside it says "Dry Clean Only Sears Roebuck and Co." It's a swell jacket that today would cost possibly 300 dollars or more. I'm delighted with how it looks and feels.

Tweed is great! I love to add depth to my style, by utilizing contrasting textures. The ruggedness of tweed, juxtaposed with a soft cashmere sweater, and a cotton dress shirt, paired with jeans or chinos, makes for an interesting outfit.

Variations in texture can add subtle contrast, that is sleek, aesthetically pleasing, and is enticing to touch. Elevated style. Especially when going with monochromatic look, or color blocking.

Antonio, I love tweed. Big fan of Harris tweed. In colder climates like you and I live in tweed sport coats are great for fall and spring. I have found some great buys in vintage shops as well
