The hero that just won’t stop being in the meta along with chou, she’s basically the perfect mage to master for any soloq player cuz of her versatile combos, cc purify, mobility and very good burst dmg. It won’t be easy the first 10 matches or more, but once you get used to her kit, it’ll be smooth sailing.

I started ml in 2018. I hated Kagura enemy because I always died. It was annoying but amazing at the same time and made me want to use her. So as they say, if you can't beat 'em join 'em. So I trained her and she's now my main. Girl does not care about meta. She IS the meta. Always have and always will be.

as a top local kagura main, ALWAYS practice LOOKING at your passive. her passive is literally a free skill to stun and slow your opponents.

kag main here, this will help me stop my kag's umbrella from combo-ing natalias. Thanks nico, and also kaizoku😩✨

Ahh, you've learned well about the gem.

Tip: Kagura gets a faster powerspike when you buy Lightning Truncheon right after the gem and boots. You have enough mana from the start to pack the poke, especially with the gem.

My personal thoughts:

For combos, usually you do 1 3 1 2 3 1/battle spell 2.
In early game, try to hit the enemies with your umbrella at least once before actually doing the combo. When you are doing it, time it so that 1 3 1 2 is fast, and then the blue 3 is when the purple 3 does the pull-in/second bit of damage. The early poke will make sure you will kill your enemy, otherwise, even with execute, there will be enough damage to kill them. The fast 1 3 1 2 is to make sure you stun them so they can't run, then the timing of the 3's is to give a sudden burst of damage to make the enemies regret getting in your range. Finish them off with execute or whatever. The 2 is for escaping, even if there is no enemy nearby (now that I think of it, I don't know why I have it as a habit).
In middle game, another combo you can have is 1 2 3 2 1 3 1. This is sometimes known as the reverse combo. I do not recommend it though, as it is slower and therefore the enemies can escape. It also leaves you without a blink skill, which is really not good. At this point of the game, your second skill cd is around 8 seconds, so you will not be able to escape if the enemies come and gank you or something. This is only a suggestion for mid game as you should have enough damage to kill them with this combo.
If you are fed, you can sometimes also do 1 2 3 and battle spell if required. This is usually used against squishy enemies and for people who want to save purple ult (like myself). Another combo is 1 3 1 2, again for squishy heroes.
In late game, just be careful. Your purple second will send you into the middle of the teamfight, and as you are extremely squishy, you will die instantly.

For builds, my usual is arcane shoes, clock of destiny, lightning truncheon, holy crystal, winter truncheon and immortality/divine glaive/blood wings/athena shield. I prefer not to build genius wand, as I'm personally lazy and try to finish games as fast as I can. The last, or last two items are really your choice, as some people are not good with winter truncheon. I would personally suggest learning how to use it well and effectively, as it will help you in not only playing all sorts of magic damage heroes, but also for freestyle. If there is high burst heroes in the enemies, I would prefer immortality as last item. Divine glave is for against tanks or full athena shield, blood wings is if you're seriously winning and want more damage, athena is for those oneshot mages in the enemy like Vale.

Emblems in the ML guide are fine, but apart Magic Worship (fire emblem thingy), I would also suggest Impure Rage (free mana thingy). Magic Worship has a fixed damage according to your level, while Impure Rage does 4% of your enemy's current hp. I would suggest using Magic Worship against heroes with dashes, and Impure Rage for those without or those with small dashes (e.g. Karrie). If you're playing Classic with her or something where you cannot see the enemy lineup, it is better to use Magic Worship.

For battle spells, the options are Execute, Flameshot and Flicker. I use execute the most, as is the easiest to use and best for KS. Flameshot is highly used in higher rank lobbies, due to its versatility in being able to snipe enemies from afar, poke and defend. It can also be used to counter buff invaders such as Tigreal by pushing the buff back without it escaping its boundaries, preventing it from regaining hp (sorry it's really hard to explain this). I have personally never used Flicker before, as I found that it lacked damage. Due to this, I cannot explain much about it and how to use it.

Again, these are just my thoughts on Kagura.

Whenever I try her I suck at the combos, so hopefully this video can help to further understand her a bit more. Thanks for the guide ML Guide :)

Kagura flameshot is actually much better when you play as a mage support. You can stun the enemy, use flameshot to push the enemies towards your teammates or in case an enemy survives a team fight, you can finish them off. Lunox can counter kagura, since her light ult is annoying and when kagura has used up all her skills she can use her dark ult to go full offense. Lunox is also sturdier than kagura in some aspects because of her passive.

Impure rage is good when enemies have tanky heroes. Also, when enemies have athena shield, instead of straight up using your combo to try to delete them like every kag does, use it to poke them. Athena shield passive does runs out and has a cooldown, during this period, her combo can delete the enemies even with athena shield.

Nowadays, since most of heroes used are tanky ones, I use glowing wand. It's burn effect actually helps a lot to kill those bullshit heroes like barats.

When enemies have one shot cc heroes like eudora or vale, try to keep your umbrella with you most of the time. So you can bait their combo and reverse uno them afterwards.

As I have used Kagura before, if you plan to play her
Do NOT under aim or over aim your skill 1, the umbrella sometimes just stop in front of a wall and not pass it even if you aimed pass the wall
Also you can always use other skills during the umbrella travel
If you think you have overshot your skill 1, just use skill 2 (without Umbrella) to stop it
OR
use your Ult (WU) so it stops and reset CD

Tho that's more forgettable than hitting walls

Extra:
Your basic attack surprisingly deals high damage of 130+ and you can increase your atk speed by
Basic + Skill 1 + Basic + Skill 1
This is an example of Animation Cancel
You use Skill 1 after your basic atk animation played halfway, your skill 1 resets your basic attack animation allowing you to immediately do another basic atk

I would add using the second skills in the combo at the right timing. It would be very advantageous if you can activate her passive when you jump in as it will stun the enemy. The usage of second skill after you're done with your combo is also depending on the situation. If your enemy is dead, and they has no back up close by, save it for when you actually need it. If the enemy's team is nearby, use it when you're cc-ed, and not before you're trapped.

Usage of Flameshot spell allows you to play more defensively/cautiously especially if you're not used with her escaping steps. Given you're now capable of securing kills from a distance, you'll have higher chance to survive sudden counter from enemies and reduced the risk of being ganked since this play style need you to rely on your team to set up the attack. Flameshot also allows you to help your teammates if you're planning to safe them from a chasing enemies.

Of course, it's all up to your play style really. If you're confident with your skills, go ahead and be aggressive. Secure more kills for your team and be the second carry of your team. If you're still new with her, play it safe. Set up ambushes and punish squishy heroes. Either way works✨

Really nice guide and explanation. There are also other combos you can use it. For example, 1-3-2-flicker-3. This combo is used when the enemy dashes away from your combo, you should immediately use flicker, ultimate 2nd effect (without umbrella), and only go for ultimate skills (with umbrella). Another combo 2-1-3-1-2-3, this combo is used when the enemy is near you. You should use her 2nd skill (with umbrella) to dash away then do a full combo 1-3-1-2-3. The flameshot is also useful when the enemy picks nana, you can fire a flameshot after nana triggers her passive. Kagura is a very perfect mage with her damage and also escape skills, but the only thing is that she's squishy. Nice explanation and thanks for the guide.

6:15 Once you unlock your ult tho usually you don't have enough damage to one-shot an enemy so I suggest stay in midlane until you get your core items and only roam around the map when your enemy is low in hp or roam with your tank (which usually never happens because no one wants to tank)

ill note that mages can push, the damage they deal to towers scales with magic power

on kagura, your ult stops the movement of your umbrella, so only click if the enemies are nearby

clock of destiny lowers your damage greatly in the early game, so if you plan to rotate often and snowball, you should buy lightning truncheon and genuis wand instead

I’d just like to add that there is a CC aside from Suppress that can prevent Kagura from escaping - continuous CC (for example, Akai, Tigreal, and Khufra)! From my experience, it’s really hard to get out of their continuous CC, since you can only purify once. Know how if you try to 2nd skill out of Khufra’s bouncing ball, you just get airborne instead? Try teleporting out with 1st skill then 2nd, which is what I always do when faced with a Khufra; same for other continuous cc when I get the chance to use my skills :]]

Hmm, now I remember when I used to main this umbrella lady just to flex to my friends that I know how to use her. I was pretty good! ;) Also, nice new upload Nico!

She is the cutiest mage I've ever seen. But she is deadliest when facing her🤣...
Cute outside.. Stronger Inside

took me 88 games 48.9 WR to properly learn her mechanic and combination. So don't worry too much about WR at first, eventually you will pick up easy wins once you master her (of course with decent teammates to secure the win)
