Actually, doomed from the start is much better than doomed after in service

So why the headline? Why is it 'Doomed from the start?' Your commentary doesn't appear to say.

This didn't explain why exactly the switch to hydrogen was difficult

The blended wing design is a good design for the fact is it is fuel efficient because of the low takeoff, speed and general low speeds need to fly in and that it should be able to takeoff at lower speeds plus increase more cargo hold and more passengers accommodation, and can potentially take up less space while I’m not gonna be able to increase storage passenger in fuel-efficient up two factor of 16% and more things.

Nobody should be surprised by this. Far better to perfect they hydrogen part first. Then work on the fancy composite blended wing airframe.

Blended wing aircraft actually look cool and I would definitely ride in one if it ever gets worked out

It short, yes. Because, like concord, it likely won’t compatible with most airports and so they would have to be modified to suit the blended wing designs. It’s airport terminal design and runway lengths that are the biggest factors in commercial aircraft design.

From what i have seen the blended wing type of aircraft will not meet any sort of approval because getting people off it in an emergency will take way longer than the simple current designs we have. Basic is better sometimes.

At one point it was thought that planes were doomed from the start.

Possible does not equal cheap though, considering plane ticket still cost more than driving.

Beautiful concept. But when brought to the CFD team we all knew it had not had the approval to senior leadership.

Didnt we already learn why we dont use hydrogen in flying aircraft?

I would love to see an actual prototype, but I think Airbus will be focusing on current and more important future projects.

This used to be called a “Lifting body” and you can see one crash during the opening credits of “The six million dollar man” from, well, before most were born. Probably the biggest problem with this aircraft isn’t the lifting body or training pilots, it’s that’s it’s not compatible with airports as it won’t fit at the gates.

How do they plan to 90 second emergency deplane?

It sure looks like the NASA jet they flew many years ago

Safety was never mentioned in this clip. Lots of passengers, only few exits. Good luck in case of an emergency.

Hydrogen in an aircraft, I wonder if anything bad has ever happened from that?

blended wing is an industrialisation nightmare compared to tubular bodies.

Well for one it’s incredibly small. Probably too small to be viable

That's one beautiful futuristic airplane. I'd love to travel with it. Go Airbus!!!
