NASA have just announced that Jupiter's Moon IO has started to send the Juno probe messages. Today, we take a look at Jupiter's Moon IO and how it's suddenly started sending messages to the Juno probe.

Scientists are making exciting discoveries at an astonishing rate, and it can be nearly impossible to keep up with all the news.

Jupiter holds the largest and most powerful magnetic field out of all the planets in our solar system. The field is about 20,000 times stronger than Earth’s, partially due to the solar wind that batters Jupiter with electrically charged particles that blow from the sun. Jupiter’s magnetic field extends so far that several of its moon's orbit within it.

Thank you for watching!

Thank you to CO.AG for the background music!

So Jupiter and Io have always generated these radio type waves. The actual title should be that our probe has started listening. Big difference. Interesting video.

....remember in the first “Alien“ movie triology, a signal was sent out from some unknown planet and the Nostromos crew went to investigate the strange signal, they thought it was a distress signal, but turned out to be a warning stay away signal....lol

All of these new findings are really coming out at an astonishing rate

Has anyone other than me noticed we tend to get happy, fun, space news during or in a time of war, there's a lot of happy fun, space news lately.

It’s Ganymede, not Io. And it was literally just electrons. More importantly, if you’re 50 or over, remember to get your prostrate checked annually 👉🏼🕸

I bet the Io signals will turn out to be a microwave in the break room.

UM: "A heatwave surrounds Uranus."
Me: It sure does!

Hey I love your channel but where do you get your information from? Can you provide sources in your descriptions? Thank you.

Years back, i heard/read that some astronomers think that Jupiter is a star that failed to ignite...

I find it interesting that a small world like Io is so geologically active. I wonder if the volcanoes are spewing lava or water? I wonder because Triton one of the moons of Neptune has Ice volcanoes.

Since space has asteroids do you think one day we'll find hemorrhoids on Uranus?

As an expert in the field of astronomy I’m officially calling “bullshit”

Honestly we are lucky earth does not have more mass, because that would mean more gravity and make it basically impossible for us to ever leave the planet using chemical rockets.

I love how everyone still says the name Uranus as if they are a 6 year old.

Yhe solar system is about to have a gravitational change, should make everything interesting. Maybe we will get to witness other planets change axis and colors before Earth goes cataclysmic. :)

The volcanos on Io release 1 ton of gasses and particles per second into space. Some of this material splits into electrically charged ions and electrons that then rain down onto Jupiter through the planet's magnetic field. Electrons caught in the magnetic field are accelerated toward Jupiter's poles and, along the way, generate a phenomenon scientists call decameter radio waves (also known as decametric radio emissions, or DAM).

The simulation does not include the gravitational pull of other stars being formed in the same region. This star, the (Sun) is part of a group of stars that formed at the same time.

It's all so fascinating and I love learning. But won't lie, the vastness of space absolutely terrifies me.

I haven't gone through all the comments but feel sure that someone will already have said that the moon 'speaking' to the Juno probe is Ganymede rather than Io - at least that's what I read in various articles. Meanwhile, Io is a name - a lover of Zeus in Greek mythology (one of many) - and not a capital 'I' and a capital 'O'.

Also, whilst the old 'rings around Uranus' gag still raises a smile, after the first mention in the comments it was done and there was no need to keep repeating it. As Futurama has taught us, all this childishness will only lead to its renaming in the future to stop all the sniggering - it will be known as Urectum.

I’d like to live on a super earth, because I would love having my neighbors twice as far away !
