The eighth studio album. It came about after vocalist/guitarist Black Francis headed into the studio with producer Tom Dalgety with 40 songs already prepared, before finishing up the record with the rest of the band.

The last song (among other ones like Nommaterday, get simulated, dregs of the wine) is such a beauty in some many ways.... pure Pixies signature style, Doggerel another Pixies gem. and Doggerels to end the albums, is the best ive heard of them in a while.

How can they still stick to their traditional pixies sound still amazes me. In indie Cindy they kinda got out of comfort zone but this one is like hearing one of the old records. Get Simulated translates that Pixies stacatto, the chord progression, the increasing intensity, and then passive-aggressive chorus, ending on amazing outro that maybe misses a more punchy Santiago's guitar.

Sorry, this is the f*cking bomb. It gets better and more tuneful with every listen.I have the red vinyl too and they have done a lovely job. Well done Francis and co, a spiky, melodic, nutty masterpiece.

Another very listenable Frank Black / Francis album. This guy very rarely fails. Nearly as good as his early solo albums. The opening 60 seconds of the album just typifies this guys brilliance.
