Thanks for the. I'm one of those people that hates tests... especially invasive ones unless I'm really ill. I teach potential medical students Anatomy & Physiology so I know better... but that's just how I am. I even have white coat syndrome. So this year my PA convinced me to at least do the Cologuard.... and yep.... it came back positive last week. So now I have a consult scheduled with a gastroenterologist. It's not until early June so I guess they aren't that concerned about it? I don't have any gastro symptoms and all my other blood tests and such are fine. I even did my mammography this year (only my 2nd) and it was fine. So hopefully this will be fine as well.

As an RN, I support this message. I will be 45 this yr and am asymptomatic.
You are only cleared for ten yrs if there were no polyps.
My husband has had three, his first at 32 (nurse wife) and had bloody stools. He had a lot of precancerous polyps removed. He’s 50 now and had his third colonoscopy a year ago. He’s good to go!! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!
And it isn’t covered by insurance if you have symptoms. You will have to pay deductible, etc.,
only preventative is no cost. Motivation to do it!!

What about a CT Colonoscopy after a positive Cologuard if you still want to avoid Colonoscopy. If no, now throw in the complication that the patient has a tortuous colon.

Just know that your Dr. maybe giving your phone number & email address to Cologuard & they will be calling, texting, emailing you all kinds of crap (pun intended). If I knew they were getting all this info about me, I would have done the colonoscopy.

what does "cleared for 10 yrs mean"? I thought that was when you can get the next one, meaning when insurance would allow it again.

If you have hemorrhoids, can you get a false positive?
