Our Building Equitable Pathways series begins with an overview of the functions and design features of intermediary organizations and how they are shaped and determined by the needs of the ecosystems and communities they serve. Additionally, this session will raise questions about and explore the imperative for intermediaries to lead and design with equity and the critical role they play in transforming systems and outcomes for Black, Latinx, and other youth of color and youth experiencing poverty. We will share examples of such efforts and lessons learned, drawing upon the work of local-, regional-, and state-level intermediary organizations that are part of the Gates Foundation’s Building Equitable Pathways Community of Practice.
